The old school "court of the carolinas" ... the one where you could actually roll down, ski down, or ride your bike down.

Hot Dog Construction Co. was replaced by Topper's.
The greenhouses were replaced by the MA Fox Labs, and the grassy area in front of it. They did build some new greenhouses behind it, but they're much smaller.

I do wonder what Riddick Labs is going to look like when they're finished with the renovations. There's absolutely nothing left of the inside, they've taken off a lot of the back wall, the annex is gone, most of the windows have been removed, all sorts of crazy stuff going on.

This is great to read. It's wild how much has changed. And even though I have been here for all of it, its amazing (and sad) how much you forget.

I'll add one: Jim Valvano being honored in Reynolds while fighting cancer and giving his "Neva, Eva, give up" speech.

No really useful signs in Winston-Caldwell-Tompkins

Oh wow. Where to begin?

I remember the days of Dick Sheridan as our football coach.
Les Robinson, hoops...
Ray Tanner, baseball...
Baxley's on Hillsborough.
The Five-O
ACC Tavern
Crazy Zack's
Shooters II
NEW BAR
OLD BAR
Champagne Charlie's
Mad Melon
The Hideaway
The Comet
The early days when the Cantina actually served food, and you could get a bucket of beer and chill outside on the deck. Before the days of upstairs and Cat Sass.
DJ's College Book and News (my freshman year)
McDonald's on Hillsborough
The Rathskeller
Marrz (don't laugh)
And when Wings To Go was still around and located at Lake Boone Shopping Center
Lake Boone Country Club
Spike's (before Colorado's and Sakura Express and Las Margaritas)
I remember when East Village first opened. It used to be a Gardner's Barbecue way back in the day.

variety in class rings as expressions of individuals accomplishments & personalities.

now there are 1 type of ring that you can either get or not get with very little to differentiate it from anyone else. lots of companies have lots of ncsu ring molds, but ncsu signed a contract with 1 company only that makes 1 basic ring only that & wont let other companies make ncsu rings any more. i can only assume was done for financial incentives.

I sincerely miss Starcade on Hillsborough Street. I used to be able to go in and beat the shit out of people for hours on end at the cost of only a dollar. My best friends even gave me a Neo Geo for graduation since I was so good at fighting games.

Cream and Bean.

Rock Ola Cafe over at Mission Valley.

I cannot for the life of me remember what happened with Jersey Mikes though, I can only think of Daryels (sp) and the bugs.

And the half priced table in the corner at Dar.'s.

^ ironically i worked at darryl's when they closed too

we got shut down because of health code violations (not with the food, just the state of the building). the building had three floors and darryl's only used the middle floor. there was a big hole in the kitchen that dropped into the kitchen and there were a shitload of pigeons in the third floor. once they shut down, they lost all the cooks/servers and they updated the image to be a bennigans.
