Rabies vaccinations are almost a gimmick. What are the chances of a pet getting rabies? Pretty freaking low. It's just to line the vet's pockets (not that they don't deserve it). But, that's not to say they're completely useless. In the very unlikely event the cat is bitten by something with rabies, you at least don't have to have its head cut open.

yeah fuck if i'm going to pay every year or whatever to get both of my cats shots when they stay inside all the time anyway. (except that one time)

wow, your SN pretty much sums you up....

yes, the chances of your pet contracting rabies is low but why do you think that is? because so many animals are vaccinated against it...if nobody vaccinated their animals then the chances would be much much higher....we also vaccinate our dogs against distemper and parvo, the chances of getting that is pretty slim as well, but not even 20 years ago, it was a very legitimate fear and serious epidemic..it it wasn't for vaccines, it'd still be a problem today

AT THE VERY least you should get a rabies vaccine...at the first exposure it's only valid for 1 year, but after that it's every three years...oh yeah, i forgot to mention, getting your pet vaccinated against rabies IS REQUIRED BY LAW!


seriously, it's not that expensive, and getting bit by a rabid animal WILL KILL YOU, so why the hell risk it??

^thats why i'm in the process of getting vaccinated...i work with animals, i'm at a much higher risk...MOST people have enough common sense not to approach an animal thats acting weird and aggressive...however, if it's their own little kitten, their going to go running up to it to help it and then get bit
