If BMWs are so great how come I always saw dudes at the different places I lived at working on them, I am not talking about changing oil or adding sound equipment, I mean having to fix them

I'd like to split this thread, but I'm not a mod, and I can't. I would, however, like to reply to ben's comments;

NO, your car could not take EITHER of Chris's BMWs. Sorry.

Get over it.

Ultra; your mustang - you need to check and see if the belt's been changed on the thing, check the brakes out as mentioned, and just glance through it man - is it eating coolant, leaking oil, etc? Long trips will cause the car to reach higher temperatures and of course, all of its components as well. Just make sure everything is reasonable - it's probably not going to blow up without any particular type of warning.

Oh, and after reading, I'd say make sure the timing belt/chain has been changed - it ain't going to be cheap. I can't promise you it's going to break on your trip though, either

^ on that note, and with that kinda mileage, wouldn't hurt to check it when you're there, either.

Spent $380 friggin' dollars today

The belt was expensive

So were the plugs and wires

Everything was 11 years old, and my headlamp switch had melted.

The spare tire has not been used once since 1995. WTF

Coolant leak is there but it isn't serious, so I am just going to top it up every now and then.
