yeah i mean that's pretty fucked up. even students on full scholarship need money for stuff like that. if they can't earn that in an honest way, then it seems like that'd make them MORE likely to accept money from someone under the table.

It could have changed in the past few years, but I did an English paper on scholarship athletes working, and I thought I remembered them saying that they could work, but it was a limited number of hours a week. And I think they were either encouraged or required to work at schools jobs.

I could be wrong on that, but it's what I remember. They could work, but it was definitely limited. And they obviously are encouraged not to.

AGAIN, unless things have changed

that "limit" is determined by what % of their tuition is not met by their scholarship

but to the best of my knowledge - full ride student athletes can not hold part time jobs during school

how the hell does an athlete have time to work during school?

If school is a ~20 hour a week job and sports is another 30-40 hours a week then where does the time come from...
