90% tip? i'm guessing that's a joke. seriously, what's a good percentage? and if you want, give me examples of what you paid for your tattoo and how much you tipped. thanks.

People say that to me about it all the time, but it has nothing to do with the Matrix(which is what I've heard that's from). I'm just obsessed with rabbits.

here's mine

about 5 years old

its my sign & its supposed to be a little uneven- i didnt like to symmetrical look of the sign

i added the star

Traditional
Aries Traits

Adventurous and energetic
Pioneering and courageous
Enthusiastic and confident
Dynamic and quick-witted

On the dark side...

Selfish and quick-tempered
Impulsive and impatient
Foolhardy and daredevil

there is a laundry list of traits but i got the tattoo because my personality lines up perfectly with my sign & i got red because its my favorite color as well as the color of the sign

i've thought of getting a second one somewhere else and i have a few ideas but not sure that i'll do it

now that i see a picture of it it looks like i could use some touching up of the color-- i love the way fresh tats look

I've got two, no pictures of either. Wouldn't mind more though. I was thinking of getting tattoos similar to the ones the brothers have in Boondock Saints, but put it on my chest or something instead.

the fish one is hot, i'd never get it done but it looks cool

i also like the <3 a little dorky for my taste and i wouldn't get it that large on my back but its fun

how often do you guys get your tats touched up, if at all? i know sun exposure has a lot to do with fading but i hardly have mine exposed to the sun-- also ab how much would a touch up of mine cost? its just a tad larger than a quarter when my back isn't streched

i like this

without the little writing of course

the first one I got 4 years ago and the add on last year. It's still fine. Wont have to touch it up for 5 more years I'm sure.

i'd like one under the ankle and to the right, just above the heel and next to the achilles tendon

i'm a huge fan of stars but have trouble finding configurations i can commit to

also its a good spot because it can be hidden by regular dress shoes & with long pants if wearing open toed shoes

i have 3 and I haven't had any of them touched up. I used 50 sunscreen on my color one and it hasn't faded much. I don't have any pictures of them though. Neal is a great artist, he did my biggest one. I think he works at Tattoo Zoo now. When he did mine he was at Start to Finish which is now No Regrets.

its a tribute to north carolina: the house i grew up in and some north carolina trees. my roots, i suppose.

some friends jokingly call it "arm flowers" and i've heard that it looks like corn as well. i sorta like to think it looks like a utopian futuristic society, as imagined in 1961.

i'm not sure how much your touch-up would cost... i haven't ever priced anything color. i wouldn't imagine it'd be much. i had my crab retouched about like 4-5 months in and the guy did it for free.

i think it looks a little video game-ish haha like old school nintendo

maybe i'll go for a touch up if i ever decide to get the stars on my foot/ankle area

the original tat was $40 and i think it turned out great, it was exactly what i had in mind-- the star also has good proportions considering how small it is

i need to experiement on my ankle with a sharpie and shoes and see how well it can be hidden in a professional envioronment

who knows i may not even do it

Some of my coworkers and I came into work this weekend and my manager saw (most) everyone's tattoos. He actually liked most of them... He said although they could find other reasons for turning you down for employment, tattoos can't be used as a reason. Surprised the hell outta me.

^^i've thought about a nautical star before, but couldnt quite justify it with a particular reason

i'm sorta picky about what i think looks good on girls, but i think outline stars can be nice and feminine sometimes

$40? nice. i paid $75 at dinner tonight

i've always been fond of stars & i'm picky about tattoos myself

i like my current tattoo because it is easily hidden and even in a bikini most people dont notice it (honestly who's looking at my BACK?)

the ankle thing sounds good to me because it can be hidden with shoes and pants like i said before

also i've heard that tats on the feet dont last as long because of constant shedding of the skin

any input on feet tats as far as fading and such? the ink goes deep enough to color the tissue and wouldn't disappear but there isn't much tissue on the foot-- just curious

Just try to limit yourself to the tattoo

There are some women at work who have GIANT tattoos on their calves and stuff - looks trashy as hell.

i also admire things that are subtle in some circumstances-- tattoo(s) on me being one of them

Like I've said before, I already have two, but both are easily hidden if I'm wearing shorts and a t-shirt. If I got more they'd be equally concealable. All the ones I get I get for myself anyway, so I don't really feel the need to show them off.

haha, i dunno, even if i could come up with a visual identity for myself (as a designer) that i'm happy with for more than a couple weeks, i don't know that i'd get it permanently on me. as it is already, i keep changing my self-promo stuff that i send out (to companies/firms) too frequently to be able to settle on a style for "ZiP" somewhere

zip, you said you used dogstar, right? who did your tatts? i am thinking about taking a floral design i drew up to kathryn because her portfolio indicates that she is pretty good with that. is their pricing about average for the area?
