other coaches thinking he's a nice guy and a "class act" is not the same thing as getting respect from other coaches. Think of canada for instance. They don't step on anyone's toes and as a country are generally pretty nice. Does that mean that America respects them? hell no. we could kick their asses to next tuesday if we wanted to.

at most, other coaches regarded herb as a good coach who they didn't really have to worry about too much. (certainly not as much as case or sloan).
