because i've used pentium all my life and i wouldn't trade it for AMD if you had a gun to my head. i believe my p4 would kick your pc's ass anyway.

sorry i dont see any p4's running at 4 on that chart. and yea, is amd is all big and bad, why do you think intel's chips are still all over the market? and btw, what is this, another intel vs amd thread? my computer kicks your's ass, period.

^AMD is eating up intel marketshare every quarter. This year they surpassed intel in desktop retail sales market share.

You shouldn't have to to be able to extrapolate roughly where it would fall (based on the fact that there's about 13 levels of AMD chips that destroy a p4 at 3.8....

Right now, AMD dominates intel in the desktop marketplace. They beat them at almost every price point. They also beat them at the high end with the fastest processors. They even beat them in performance per watt and heat production. To exclude AMD out of hand is to gaurantee owning an inferior desktop machine. This is just like how excluding Intel out of hand a few months from now when conroe chips are availible could lead to the same result. Like I said earlier, brand loyalty is silly.
