the stands at derr were just about completely full i think - at first a big red golf cart rolled in and everybody started cheering... until they found out he wasn't on it

then he came walking from the WB/Morrill Drive side and crossed all the way across the field

he said a lot of the same things he said at the press conference earlier, about loosening the reins a little and letting the players use their athleticism... he reiterated a bunch about how he felt about the passion for athletics that this university has, and that how it was shown by the crowd showing up like it did tonight...

Yikes. Especially Grant. Pretty much said that he liked Lowe told the players to have fun because most were trying not to screw up and get in Herb's doghouse. Said hopefully now he's in a system that can fit more of the players and allow him to get to the basket. Finished with "things should get a lot better around here"



And as far as Simmons, I think that interview confirmed that he was gone. He was very stand-offish and had a tone that made me think he was gone

It didnt sound like he was taking a shot at sendek, but it was funny as hell when he kept saying that they're gonna feed the big man a lot and looked straight at ced


^yeah, he sounded stand-offish in the first part of the clip, but came around at the end. I mean he didnt close any doors, and I like the fact that he said he's not making the decision based on his family, and that he's still got a lot of talking to do with Sidney. I dont think you could tell much from it, but its better than nothing.

Looks like this confirms what a lot of people have thought about sendek all along. Sendek failed at managing the emotional side of kids playing a competitive game, and he wasn't creative or flexible.
