well i would think if like verizon and cingular and all the other ones just merged no one would ever lose a signal

^ That'd be great, but it'd kill competition. Monopolies typically aren't good for the consumer, but I'd be willing to pay for 100% coast-to-coast coverage w/ no roaming.

^^ agreed, and it'd be cool to have phones that would use both cdma and gsm networks (if that's even possible, i don't know), and then it'd be a moot point

so the phone companies are merging toward monopolies again

and the news is now breaking that the phone companies are complicit in the NSA keeping records of all our phone calls

i wonder if the two are related...
