I'm irritated at Katharine's dumbfounded expressions whenever the judges tell her she didn't do so great. As though every performance is great. I like her voice, but she needs to do more bluesy/Norah Jones-ish stuff instead of trying to overdo it Christina Aguilera style. When she overdoes it she's just loud rather than good.

Elliot is the strongest singer. His vibrato, I agree, can be a bit much at times. But his voice has a soothing quality. He's the best recording voice. He's also a nice guy. I called his numbers continuously last night throughout the two hours of voting. I think it all comes down to # of text votes because they probably all have busy lines. I got through a few times on one of Elliot's lines but the other two were too busy.

Taylor will win. His fan base is too huge, especially with the other two he's facing. It seems pretty split between Elliot and Katharine in regard to fan numbers. Hopefully Elliot's "underdog" humility qualities will win out.

Taylor - winner; best performer, good vocals
Elliot - runner-up; best vocals, but tends to show nervousness for first song of night
Katharine - out this week; great vocals but very inconsistent; full of herself

PS: Since Chris was voted off I think those fans will avoid voting for Katharine since she is obviously the worst singer of the four, not to mention she was the other person in the bottom two, yet beat Chris.

Taylor Hicks is garbage

I really dont understand how people can like him, his voice is like a karaoke version of joe cocker, as are his mannerisms. On top of all that he's got a weird creepy factor with the gray hair at 30 years old.

Katherine McPhee goes on to either re-arrange her image like Kelly Clarkson and sell tons of albums...or become the next Norah Jones.

Chris Daughtry ends up signing with Fuel and singing 10yr old songs that he didn't write in 500-600 capacity clubs around the country.

^^^Taylor may make up for it in sales the first album. But overall only Elliot has any lasting power of the final three. And that lasting power is a stretch at best. Maybe he can catch on in the adult contemporary scene. Chris is the most likely to last, but looking at all past Idol contestants even that is a stretch.

I actually think Elliot has the least lasting power. He's got a great voice...but its not original or unique in any way at all. Some might say the same thing about McPhee...but she's actually hot and can win folks over w/ sex appeal.

I believe that Chris will avoid Fuel like he did the first time. That is a sinking ship and he'd be crazy to jump on it now when his popularity is as high as it is right now.

Have you been watching many of the late-night shows and early talk-shows? Everytime I come across one of them the hosts are asking the guests "Can you believe Chris got voted off of American Idol?".

I usually have faith that the final 2 will get contracts, but in this case I think the winner and Chris will get contracts, and Taylor could possibly get one if he lost simply due to his immense popularity.

I doubt many of the people that think Katharine is so hot are doing much voting.

The huge majority of Chris fans will avoid voting for Katharine b/c she edged him out to continue to this week. Maybe they voted for Elliot or Taylor, and if that's the case, perhaps Elliot will continue to next week.

Taylor has a lot of potential for good records and lasting power. Elliot could last a long time in the R&B/blues/adult contemporary category. Katharine has the least lasting power unless she matures and realizes her attempts at Whitney Houston type stuff completely crash.

Katherine = Kelly Clarkson
Taylor = Ruben Studdard

Katherine is very much in the same position as Kelly was in season 1. With the right make over, about 10 pounds less, quality songs that fit her voice, and some hollywood polishing, she'll be bringing home the grammys in a few years too.

Taylor's voice is average at best and sings a bluesey song style that doesn't sell records to AI's audience. I'm not saying Ruben sang the same style, I'm saying they don't excel at pop music.

Performance charisma doesn't sell records...vocals do. And Katherine's voice has way more potential than Taylors. So in the end it really doesn't matter who wins. Katherine will sell a ton of records and Taylor will fade into oblivion after his 15 minutes are up.

same thing happened in 2003 when it was Clay/Reuben...NC voters claimed that they could never get through when voting for Clay...just face it, AI producers hate NC guys!
