Who said I don't play video games? I play the hell out of video games. The difference is, I don't flip my script over every rumor that comes out. If this comes to fruition, I probably won't buy a PS3. If it doesn't, then I might. In the meantime, is it really worth getting your blood pressure up about? Wouldn't it be a lot better to just calm down about the whole thing until the console actually launches and you have a chance to assess the true nature of the situation?

I provided a link on my last post on the 1st page. Sony is now saying they are not going to do this. However I wouldn't be surprised if the rumors were put out there on purpose by Sony to see what the public reaction would be.

See, at this point I'm not even talking about the hobby of video game playing, but the hobby of video game collection and discussion of upcoming products.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with having a calm, rational discussion about the various technical aspects of current and future console gaming systems. Your use of terms such as "flip my script", "getting your blood pressure up" and "just calm down about the whole thing" would imply that we're somehow in a frenzy about all of this or that I'm sitting somewhere pounding back double espressos cursing Sony out for setting the PS3 at a price point that I'm not willing to pay.

There's a reason I put this thread in Tech Talk instead of one of the numerous existing fanboy inspired video game threads in Entertainment. Because I knew that for the most part we would be able to have a civil conversation about this potential new "feature" and its the ramifications.

But I guess no conversation on TWW is complete until someone gets called a name, so fuckin 'tards it is then.

I think the point here is not that these "rumors" were why alot of us have some anger towards Sony, but the fact that Sony has been making alot of dumb decisions lately. First the price tag, then the blatant rip off of control mechanics from Nintendo, the dumb ass Playstation/Spiderman psuedo logo and I think the sloppy (Hey we're playstation we don't need to do anything special) presentation of their product.
