I used the one PackMan suggested, and it didn't even quite BCBSNC. My cheapest was American 'something' for $42/month. If I could afford another bill right now, I would.

That is really crazy. My husband and I have been looking into health insurance options and the rate quotes from BCBS were between 100-300ish dollars for the two of us COMBINED, depending on coverage.

Check out other insurance companies, especially those that work with businesses. My husband's company uses Medcost. What you all could do is have the company pay for half, and you get docked out of your pay for the other half. My husband has both of us covered on his and I think that's about $150 out of each paycheck.

if you can't afford a regular policy...make sure you get catastrophic, and couple that with a health savings account.
