Yeah, it makes me feel like a loser because I haven't seen any damn movies.

When, in actuality, I'm a loser because I've seen so many movies.

bump

If they made this for books, I'd be on it like white on rice. Rating things on Amazon is cluttered and requires more detailed reviewing.

Anyone know how to program a site like that? We could totally call it Liticker.

I know.

Whatever, you're just jealous of my brilliant idea of copying someone else's good idea.

Also, we disagree on the following:
The Last Emperor
Punch-Drunk Love
Death to Smoochy
Mean Girls
I, Robot
Big Daddy

And what the fuck? I'm like the only person on the site who's seen Earth.

Did you ever see Water?

And I'm more disturbed by your rating of Me and You and Everyone We Know. Consider my e-heart BROKEN

There, THAT'S emo for ya!

Okay, look, I saw that movie in not-so-good surroundings. (ie: I brought a bunch of people because I thought it would be super awesome and then they laughed at me for being a pretentious art fag and found the symbolism to be too much- which I sorta did, too). Anyway, I'd probably have to watch it again by myself minus all the laughing to take it more seriously. In some places I thought it was trying too hard to be quirky.

And I haven't seen Water yet, but I'll report on it before the end of the week, I swear.

For what it's worth, I can guarantee you that Miranda July does not in any way have to try to be quirky. Me and You is the most conventional thing she's ever done. Also, it has one of the top lines of all time. When Christine asks Richard how he burned his hand, he says, "I tried to save my life and it didn't work."

Yeah, that was awesome- actually that whole sequence when he first lights it, then thinks "hmmm, that's not how he did it..." is cool.

Oh, and on a whim I just came back from seeing Water. AND OH MY FUCKING LORD. It's the most depressing movie I've seen all year. Okay, well maybe second if we're including Dogville since I didn't even see that until March of this year. Right, well oh god. I wanted to cry at least twice, but seeing as how I thought being the only one in the theater crying would be a little too... Cinema Paradiso... I stopped myself (I did, however, say "NO, NO!" out loud). God I love her movies (I'm going out on a limb here to assume that Fire is pretty good- other than that, I don't know about the rest). Maybe I was Indian in another life or something, I don't know. I'm putting it on Criticker as a 90, since it was as good as Earth.

Oh, and I think it's easier to get recommendations from people on your top TCI list- chances are they have some good stuff rated.

Amusing- now we can all be German comrades, and get better recommendations this way. Snappy.

I added ActionPants and spookyjon for kicks.

It totally hates me.

Oh dear god, I nearly snorted Dr. Pepper out of my nose when I read ActionPants's blurb about March of the Penguins:

"SUCH MAJESTIC BEASTS THESE CRAZY PENGUINS BE"

I use it every time I watch something.

The best part is that they've now ordered their entire movie list by your PSIs:

http://criticker.com/?af& psi

without the space in the middle, of course... the "&psi" keeps fucking things up.

Well it's on the top part of my PSI list, too.

My #1 recommendation is "Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans." More Germans, it seems.
My list also tells me to rent more Kurosawa, Buñuel and Bergman movies.

That's number one on mine as well, but I decided to give precedence, you know, to the talkie.
