Tool peaked with Aenima, IMO. They aren't as overrated as they used to be.

Led Zeppelin is by far the most overrated band I've ever seen. I like them, but they aren't spectacular.

I listened to In Case We Die before work today and Pulp last night before bed. We're definitely on the same wavelength.

DARK NEW DAY is a very underrated band...at least in terms of album sales. They are a bad ass band with guys that have been very successful and now they have had to fight to get support from their label for a new album.

Check them out at http://www.darknewday.com

THey are also on myspace.....they have members from sevendust (the main song writer of the newest sevendust album), Scrape, stereomud, and creed...

anyone who says tool and zeppelin are overrated are idiots

overrated: Nirvana (they stole a song from my uncle's band)
underrated: Jethro Tull, King Crimson

for anyone that cares listen to:
Killing Joke - Eighties
then listen to
Nirvana - Come as you are

My uncle is the lead guitarist for killing joke and came up with the riff from "come as you are" almost 10 years before nirvana did. You can find the song "eighties" on limewire or something.

ahaha i found it on DC++ labeled as Killing Joke - Eighties [Come As You Are].mp3

Quote :
"When Nevermind was released, members of the British post-punk band Killing Joke claimed the main guitar riff of "Come as You Are" plagiarized the riff of their own single, "Eighties". The band, however, did not file a copyright infringement lawsuit, which according to Rolling Stone was "due to personal and financial reasons." In an interview given to French magazine "Hard Rock Magazine", Jaz Coleman stated he did not file a lawsuit because the members of Nirvana openly confessed to him that they indeed took the riff, which he said was all he wanted to hear.

Neither band has apparently held a grudge about this; ex-Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl played drums on Killing Joke's thirteenth (second self-titled) album in 2003, and recorded a version of their song "Requiem" with his own band, the Foo Fighters. The Foo Fighters even performed the song live with Coleman at a New Zealand concert."

he does hold a little bit of a grudge and so does our whole family
i still own a couple nirvana cds and listen to their music though

glad you guys are lookin into it
"Eighties" a good song and should be downloaded (hate to say download my uncle's music but i wouldn't buy anything unless i heard it first)
Killing Joke has a lot more cool shit out too
they've been around for awhile; since the early eighties
they were pretty big in England at one time and they still tour and make music together

also, metallica covered one of killing jokes songs too
metallica actually gave credit to killing joke and they were acknowledged in the CD booklet
the song is "The Wait" and its off the "ride the lightening" album

not a total ripoff at all, just the opening in "eighties" and "come as you are" are very similar
after that the songs are totally different

I wouldn't say that Brain Eno is underrated. Sure, a lot of people these days don't know much about him, but anybody who does probably thinks very highly of him.

"The Wait" was off of the "Garage Days Re-revisited" album as well as "Garage INC." which are cover albums. It was not on "RTL".

EVERYONE MOST PEOPLE HAVE HEARD OF IS OVERRATED, ONLY COOL TRENDY UNDERGROUND BANDS ARE WORTH LISTENING TO
