God damn this thread.

The addition of sarcastic posts and morons makes for a very bad discussion.

HINT: Those people who said Philip Seymour Hoffman, William H. Macy, Gary Oldman, Kevin Spacey, Ed Harris, etc. were joking.

HINT: Type-cast actors is not the same thing as an actor who simply plays himself.

Eminem is a perfect example of an answer to this thread. Morgan Freeman, Jack Black, the Wilsons, Vince Vaughn, Adam Sandler, etc. are not.

"No way. He ususally plays arrogant assholes (big lebowski, patch adams, magnolia, punch drunk love) but not always (boogie nights), but even so, his range of arrogant assholes is very very good.
of course, this thread is about non-actors, so I guess that would mean PSH would have to be an arrogant asshole in real life, which i have no idea about."

oh wow

you sad, sad people

even if you didnt realize he was joking from his post, and it should have been obvious

No, for real. Kevin Spacey.

Search your feelings. You know it to be true.

In Tom Cruises defense...he hasn't played a crazy person but once or twice...so technically he isn't playing himself...just type casted as a poser douche

On the contrary, jack was playing himself - the fat not funny annoying white guy.

You are an idiot. Gary Oldman is arguably one of the most versatile actors out there is right now.

i dont recall jack black making any music instrument noises in king kong

so, in that respect, the role was completely different than any he had played before

harrison ford does not play himself

in every interview i've seen of him he appears to be clueless and ignorant about everything and very unlike any of the characters he plays

and its getting worse as he gets older

Pierce Brosnan.

You know what though, if he's really not like that in real life, then nobody tell me.

btw, my question was rhetorical. i know the answer is nobody.

all you did was critique others' selections

and you claim eminem, he has been in all of one movie, how can you judge his acting forte based off of one movie? this is like baseball, you have to have a minimum number of at bats to qualify or some shit.

^^^

As if trying to clear up this cesspool of a conversation wasn't enough of a contribution for you, I'll nominate a totally new and perfectly fitting actor: Jared Hess.

And although Enimem was only in one movie so far, he was simply playing himself.

seriously (and yes, previous pun intended). every movie i watch with him in it creeps me the fuck out. so one has to ask himself, "is he trying to be creepy, or does it just come naturally?" and yes this includes batman begins.

I saw some ridiculous Jackie Chan movie in which he played a special forces member from Hong Kong named... Jackie Chan. But he got amnesia and forgot who he was.

I'm seconding Keanu. For the love of God, he was the same character in both the Matrix and Point Break. Give me a fucking break.

Quote :
"Alex Trebek:Why? Keanu Reeves has an impressive -$32,000.
Keanu Reeves: I know kung-fu
Alex Trebek: For the last time, no you don't. And finally, Hilary Swank in a commanding lead with zero."

Every time I think of that piece of shit, I see his typical awkward, yet serious head-tilt. Again, gimme a break.

Brett Claywell.

I've known him since I was 8 years old, and he just acts like himself on the TV. (He's on One Tree Hill).
