It seems too possible that it would be done on purpose that the Israeli captured soldiers are in Iran or Syria so that Israel can start a war with them. Attacking Syria will lead Iran to interfere, or vice versa. The US cares about the Lebanese government and definitely it cares about Israel. This is going to seriously distract the US and other countries will get on the move. The US also cares about the Middle East and what it is to it's economy.

Imagine the US having to deal with North Korea (very serious threat with their naive provocative missle launching and nuclear shit), Iran (nuclear, supporting terrorists such as hezbollah and the syrians, also fighting against Israel), terrorist attacks against the US right here in our country, still so much shit in Iraq which by the way, we needed to have major troops in their in case we were going to fight Iran or Syria, Afganistan and bin laden and the list goes on...

It's getting hot in here...

^^wasn't always the case. They're driving the christians outta there. Now, most of the christians are in the middle, neither completely north or south. You can say Beirut is divided between the christians and muslims. I've been to most of the christian areas in Lebanon and they are beautiful. All of Lebanon is beautiful, but there are many areas, mostly the christian where you will feel you are in Paris.

Also, Lebanon is the only country in the middle east that doesn't have a desert.

Hezbollah is more of a player in Lebanon than a guerrilla group. Lebanon still has a pro syrian government they have been trying to oust. Hezbollah currently controls the southern portion of lebanon.

As for taking out the airport and the bridges, its more to isolate southern lebanon and hezbollah. They are cutting off the line for supplies from syria and other nations and have a blocked transfer containers of fuel supplies.

There are 25,000 Americans in Beirut and the current situation makes if very hard to evaculate them if necessary.

Paris isn't all that dirty, and I found the locals to be pretty cool. I fell ill in Paris with like a 103.5 fever and this dude stayed at his shift at the front desk of the Hotel past his paid hours so I could drag my sick ass there before check-in closed. Then, he helped drag my sick ass up 5 flights of stairs and called a doctor for me. Not to mention the French dude in the metro that used his cellphone to call the hotel to alert them I was on the way, too.

No complaints about Parisians here, I think they rock. Otherwise the city was like an older New York.
