50,000 people confirmed dead in iraq (us, them, military and non), so I guess there's about 10 million more worth of catching up to do to bring him into Stalin/Hitler levels in the next couple years.

Possible. Unlikely, but we will all certainly look like idiots if he finds a way.

It's been done, probably, but I skipped everything after this. If it has been done, it needed to be restated anyway for those who didn't get it the first time.

Quote :
"- took the fight to the terrorists"

1. The "terrorists" are everywhere around the globe, including Saudi Arabia. George has taken the fight to a handful of the "terrorists" by declaring an idea to be a war.

2. He took it to the terrorists after ignoring the information that Clinton left behind for him until people started flying airplanes into buildings. He also ignored further reports that specifically stated that bin Laden was going to have folks fly commercial airliners into the towers.

3. He wrapped himself in the American flag and said that if you were against his way of dealing with the terrorists, you must be against America.

4. He turned over the job of capturing a cornered bin Laden instead of seeing to it that we finished the job.

5. He's ignored existing rules which state that he can even retroactively get a warrant if he needs to while wire-tapping US citizens whose only crime is having friends with brown skin.

George sucks on terrorism.

Quote :
"- took on the iraq threat"

1. What Iraq threat? First the threat was WMD's that weren't there. Even Powell says he wishes he hadn't sat in front of the UN and presented what was basically bullshit information. Even if the info seemed good at the time, maybe if he'd worked with the UN, it's inspectors could have gotten in and proved that there were no WMD's. Of course, then the goal wasn't WMD's it was liberation from an opressive government. The guys we have killing people because they're different now are SO much better.

1.5. What Iraq threat? Iraq had absolutely no relationship with Al Queda. None.

2. Civil War. It's happening. We can't stop it. Iraq has become a huge training ground for terrorists. We're stuck in a situation we can't even take a sniff at getting out of. All this long after Bush declared the Mission to be Accomplished.

Quote :
"- tried to uphold conservative values "

1. If, by this, you mean opposing safe abortion and the right to choose. Then yes. He'd much rather see a confused teen with a rusty coat hanger up her na na than have the same teen get counsiling and safe treatment should she decide to go through with it. Bravo.

2. If, by this, you mean opposing the teaching of science in favor of Genesis. Then yes. But he never advocated this kind of "fair and balanced" teaching in my Old Testament class, where no one mentioned evolution.

3. If, by this, you mean opposing the teaching of safe sex practices in favor of just telling teenagers not to fuck and then believing they'll listen. Then yes.

4. If, by this, you mean doing everything he can to eliminate the basic rights of people because they're gay. Then yes. He's made it very clear that those who practice the butt-sex should not enjoy rights.

5. If, by this, you mean that he considers 1-4 to be vastly more important than the people in this country who are suffering due to homelessness, hunger, and disease because his version of Jesus doesn't seem to give a damn about the "least of these," but sure does hate butt-pirates. Then Yes.

Bush sucks on social issues.

Quote :
"- appointed conseravtive judges that will uphold the constitution"

Don't fool yourself. His "conservative" judges won't give half a thought to getting rid of pesky things like free speech and seperation of church and state.

Bush sucks on judges, but to be fair any president would. No such thing as pure unbias.

Quote :
"- supports anti-terrorist movements around the world"

Supporting anti-terror movements is right on par with supporting breathing air. I don't see why you should get any brownie points for this. Although, given how cowboy George likes to operate; I suppose some credit should be given to him for not going against another country's anti-terrorist stuff just because it's not American.

Quote :
"- didnt bow down to the UN"

Good. Listening to the UN sure would have been a shitty thing to do. Like when they said that if we got involved in Iraq, we'd regret it. Boy, I'm sure glad we didn't listen to them. Not to mention George went ahead and backed out of every treaty we were a part of that was designed to keep the number of horrible weapons in the world to a minimum and yet still has the gaul to bitch when some other country wants to up their "blowing shit up" capacity.

Bush absolutely sucks on foreign policy.

Quote :
"- most importantly, acts in the best interest of the US, not the desires of other countries who wish to dictate world affairs"

Bush acts in the interest of his campaign donors. Other countries want to dictate world affairs because they're part of the world. I guess when George decides to dictate world affairs, though, it's okay for some reason. This is seriously the most ignorant statement in a huddle of them. This country's best interest is not served in stretching its military so thin. This country's best interest is not served by quick-fix tax breaks whose long term affects can be seen if he looked at his daddy's four years in office. This country's best interests are not served by alienating the world. This country's best interests are not served by letting the environment go to shit. This country's best interests are not served in denying anyone their rights, be they gay or suspected terrorist. This country's best interest's are not the same as Enron's best interests.

Bush is horrible on everything.

Thus ends the manifesto.

Clinton had 3 distinct chances with the fucking scope on bin laden's head and never gave the ok for the shot. dont' give me shit that it was bush who dropped the ball on clinton's intelligence. And if clinton's intelligence was so sound, why did he bomb iraq over non-existant WMDs... hmm...

^clinton could've given bin laden up to the sudan who would've tortured and killed him

but that wouldve been immoral and wrong

or actually i think he was on a phone call with his Green Beret commando on the ground like "Sir, we have Bin Laden, should we let him go?"

and Clinton was gettin head and about to nut and he was like "YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!"

The only thing I'm saying is that people who came into the White House and read what Clinton left for Bush about terrorism have gone on record as saying that Clinton was "obsessed with bin Laden."

Bush got a memo saying that that specific attack was imminent and he went on vacation.

Did Clinton fail to kill him after allowing the modern Pearl Harbor?

Or was that George?

You people keep comparing George to Clinton, but all I heard from you people during Clinton's administration is what a shitty president he was. So if you hated what Clinton did so much, why don't you show me where George has done any better.

You know what? Fuck that. How about if I concede that yes, Clinton dropped the bin Laden ball by assuming that George had the stones to do something about him, if not before then when he balked at pulling the trigger.

Why don't you respond to any other point I made?

I'd vote for any "New Democrat" that renounced democratic philosophy and happily suported much of the "Contract with America" put forth by the Republican Party.

I vote Republican simply because I miss Clinton. He was and still is the best America could hope for.

I don't know about his wife, she sounds too much like a democrat and not enough like a "New Democrat" circa 1990s.

The democratic party has become a joke over the past 6 years. The party is being run by the far left (some of which are on this board) who's only position is that "Bush is wrong". For example, since the terrorists in Iraq are against Bush, they side with the terrorists over there own country. Some even go as far as to wish America loses the war so that Bush will be embarassed. Another example is that democrats refuse to recognize the accomplishments in Iraq. Schools are being built, new roads are created, and an entire population no longer has to live under a dictator's regime of murder, rape, and torture, but God forbid the US deprive a known terrorist of sleep to get answers, that would be just too drastic.

Wise up democrats...didnt you know that John Kerry was one of the most far left person in congress when you nominated him to run against a moderate republican in 2004? How on earth did you think you would attract any moderate/slightly conservative votes with Kerry running? Thats rule #1 in politics.

whats so funny about this, is that you make the most nonsensical and uninformed posts here, second only to TreeTwista10. But at least he has the excuse of being a hippy dopesmoker who smoked himself retarded. I don't know what your excuse is. Willfully stupid, is best I can tell.

When starting this thread I had hoped to see a semi-intelligent debate evolve on Bush's foriegn and domestic policy. But the sheer amount of stupidity coming from Fry, TreeTwista and others, is just staggering. If I was a Republican, I'd be embarrassed for them.

Maybe I'll try to reread this thread again, later. Theres a few Bush apologists I saw who at least try to sound informed.

And because I find it humorous that in spite of all the hating on the conservative side, Clinton > GOP

wrong. the Dem party is not being run by anyone. we have multiple factions from the conservative to the liberal wings, to all points in between, attacking each other.

well, you're just a little parrot, aren't you?. Here's a hint for you: Ann Coulter is not a political scientist.

Quote :

we all recognize that there is some attempt being made to rebuild the infrastructure that we destroyed. yeah, that's real nice. but it's like Colin Powell said before we invaded: "if you break it, you own it".

now we can RE-build all the schools we want, but it's no good if the children cant go to school for fear of being blown up. its no good to have a fixed road if you're afraid of being summarily executed by roving death squads because you have the "wrong" last name.

Quote :
"and an entire population no longer has to live under a dictator's regime of murder, rape, and torture,"

thats really beautiful. you should look into a career in corporate PR. I think you'd do really well.

But never mind that the entire population now lives in a chaotic war zone and are subject to random murders, executions, rape and tortures at any time. some at the hands of the US occupiers, some at the hands of sectarian religious zealots. as far as brutal dictators and human rights abuses go, there is far worse out there than saddam ever was.

Quote :
"but God forbid the US deprive a known terrorist of sleep to get answers, that would be just too drastic."

never mind the fact that torture techniques are proven to be ineffective and even actually /counter-productive/ at intelligence gathering,

So how about "god forbid" that we torture /suspected/ terrorists and taxi drivers and falaffel vendors with electric shocks, broken bones, dog attacks, psychological and sexual trauma, and every so often some of them die on us... but whatever. they arent american ... and we all know white americans >> everyone else.
