Unfortunately there is no complete list. There's just too damn many people. But someone mildly famous might be mentioned in the cardplayer.com blog.

You'd still have to search through the whole thing. I'll let you know if I see anything about that guy when I'm reading it later tonight as it happens. (it just started a half-hour ago for the day)

Final Table begins tomorrow at 2:00 PST

Well, the actual final table was yesterday with
Quote :
"
Seat 1 - Richard Lee $8,465,000
Seat 2 - Erik Friberg $5,905,000
Seat 3 - Paul Wasicka $4,750,000
Seat 4 - Dan Nassif $5,865,000
Seat 5 - Allen Cunningham $18,000,000
Seat 6 - Michael Binger $3,640,000
Seat 7 - Doug Kim $6,190,000
Seat 8 - Fred Goldberg $4,265,000
Seat 9 - Jamie Gold $27,330,000
Seat 10 - Rhett Butler $5,165,000
"

But they always play until they only have 9, so the WSOP official final table seats and chip counts are
Quote :
"
Seat 1 - Richard Lee - $11,820,000
Seat 2 - Erik Friberg - $9,605,000
Seat 3 - Paul Wasicka - $7,970,000
Seat 4 - Dan Nassif - $2,600,000
Seat 5 - Allen Cunningham - $17,770,000
Seat 6 - Michael Binger - $3,140,000
Seat 7 - Doug Kim - $6,770,000
Seat 8 - Jamie Gold - $26,650,000
Seat 9 - Rhett Butler - $4,815,000
"

You have to love Jamie Gold's stack, and he's got a few cashes in his history, but Allen Cunningham is a very experienced pro. He has 88 major tourney cashes, with 14 wins. He has 4 bracelets including one this year already in No-Limit Hold'em and a top ten finish in 2-7 Triple Draw.

Most of the others are unknowns, but Lee has a small cash in '05 and Wasicka has several cashes, Binger has 3.

I'll pick Wasicka and Cunningham heads up and heads up is usually a coinflip if someone isn't completely dominated.

Not all tourneys get chopped. Some touneys actually ban chopping, but I don't think its this one.

Especially because the tourney winnings aren't even the half of what's to come for winning this tournament. And you can be damn sure Cunningham could give two shits about this money. The bracelet is on his mind.

wpt bans chopping.

wsop chopping happens quite a bit... (at least the last two main events, not sure about moneymakers or before) usually with a stay for the winner.

I'm not saying chopping doesn't happen a lot, you're totally right. But calling it a coin-flip isn't true because you know top pros care more about the bracelet anyhow. Winning the tourney gives you endorsements and fame, coming in 2nd, notsomuch.

So, they still play their hearts out even if they do chop.

both 2005 and 2004 there were deals made.

it was brutally obvious by the play,

and raymer and others have not been shy about talking about the deals.

Yeah, well I tell you what ask Chan, Hellmuth, Brunson, Ivey, Negreanu, and other top pros (Cunningham included because he is a top pro)
If they would trade 12 mil for being world champ again (or for the first time)

I bet they all say they would.

I didnt say they would trade it, but $12mil is on their mind. When you are playing for that much money, no matter who the player is, you are going to be thinking about $12mil.

Oh, and Allen Cunningham won his seat into the main event on Full Tilt, and they announced before the WSOP, if you qualified on FT for the main event, and win, they will double the prize money. And I don't care what you say, I think Cunningham would rather have $24mil than win the main event.

You're wrong. Allen Cunningham is considered one of the best poker players on earth. Problem is, no one outside of people who watch poker a lot know that. Lots of people have never even heard of him. He plays in a home game with Ivey and several other "famous" top pros who've all said publicly that he's the best player. But no one recognizes him outside of really big poker fans.

He's worth many times over $24 million, and I'm not saying it doesn't matter to him. But if you chop that right now, he'll play the tournament the exact same way, because the bracelet is to him the super bowl, the world series, to coup de gras or whatever the hell you want to call it. He wants that bracelet.

It will be interesting though, because if I were at that table, I'd ask for a 9 way chop and we all dump to the FT winner. I wonder if FT has a rule against chops so they won't pay. I'd bet they do.

^^I know who he is, and I know he is a badass player. He was part of the original "crew" with Juanda, Ivey, and Negreanu. But I really doubt he is "worth $24mil many times over. So you are telling me he is worth like $100mil? Wrong. And you are still missing my point. I know he wants the bracelet, and its something all poker players want, but for $24mil THE MONEY WILL BE ON HIS MIND. You are acting like he isnt even acknoweldging its there. And I don't think any football player would trade a Superbowl ring for $24mil. And honestly, some of the best poker players are going to tell you they would probably rather have the bracelet, but in reality, you know damn well they would trade it for $24mil.

Allen just got taken to school... his pocket 10s got bluffed off a HUGE pot by KQd...
granted it woulda been hard as hell to call with the board being AJlow hearts then turn A

Couple hands before he schooled Gold and I can't wait to see what they had when the hole cams are shown.

i thought the winning hand was.. loser raises preflop... winner calls. winner pairs his Q on the flop, other guy had pocket 10s. loser leads out with a bet, winner raises 10s guy all in, and 10s guy calls, thinking winner missed the flop. game over.

"LAS VEGAS -- Former Hollywood talent agent Jamie Gold pulled off his best acting job ever early Friday, bluffing his way to victory at the World Series of Poker and taking home the grand prize of $12 million.

More from ESPN Poker
Read more about how the final table shook out in the wee hours of the morning in the ESPN Poker Club blog. Story
• Best/worst of '06 | Poker index

Gold, of Malibu, Calif., somehow convinced Paul Wasicka he had a weaker hand, getting him to push all his chips in the pot. The 36-year-old Gold screamed for joy to see Wasicka pocket 10s to his pair of queens.

It was the last bit of overacting for the former agent to the stars, who had bluffed and cajoled his way to the chip lead during the last four days of play.

"I knew that he was weak but he had a hand. And then I knew it was my chance," Gold said. "I went all in and then I just went into my act. I actually talked him into calling with the worst of it and that won the whole tournament."
"

Ah, I see, maybe they are saying he bluffed alot and thats what lead to him getting the victory. It could come across either way I guess.

Well they are going to have to run through like 10 episodes of the main event, they are showing them now two at a time, and there are still the circuit events to go through, and they've got to edit all the main event footage. I'd say mid to late September the final table will be on TV.
