I like it. Oliver has struggled but he has a TON of potential and Nady is very replaceable in the lineup.

Plus we needed to get RoBo to replace Duaner, since he is out (which is fucking shitty).

V and a reliable setup guy who we know can pitch in NY. Nady is a very replaceable player. He hits .260 with inconsistent power.

Perez is a good pitcher...he will do well with their pitching coach, who helped Zito win a CY.

He throws hard, has nasty breaking stuff...but his mechanics are terrible.

Jones is not going to Boston. Atlanta is trying to win the wild card, and will only trade Jones for pitching. Not only would the move with Boston be a bad baseball move, but a horrible move from a marketing standpoint...Jones is an icon in Atl.

WTF?? Turner hasn't owned the Braves in like 10 years. He sold out to AOL-Time Warner to get a bunch of stock. AOL is likely to sell the Braves to a company called Liberty Media out of Colorado in a some type of stock trade where neither side has to pay taxes. There is plenty of detail on this shit in the Braves thread.

As for the Mets trade of Nady for Oliver Perez and Roberto Hernandez. I look at it this way: The mets stole Nady from the Padres for shitty ass Mike Cameron and used him to fill a need since Sanchez got in that unfortunate accident (shitty ass NYC cab drivers). What Nady has provided this year has been all been basically a bonus because they really just wanted to get rid of Cameron. Their lineup is loaded so Nady won't be missed especially if Milledge gets a long look in Nady's place. Plus they could be packaging Perez to the Padres to get Linebrink as is being rumored, which would be a huge pickup. The Padres are the Mets farm system.
