Dealers begin auctioning 2009 Camaros on eBay
Quote : | "Some GM dealers have already begun auctioning the right to purchase the first 2009 Chevrolet Camaros on eBay. Currently, 'Buy It Now' prices sit between $20,000 and $25,000 — the amount the customer agrees to pay on top of the car's MSRP. Back in May, some dealers began taking $1,000 deposits for the new Camaro. However, GM pressured the dealers to remove ads for down-payments, because production for the car had not yet been approved. However, following today's official announcement that GM will build the Camaro, it seems the dealers are right back at it again. " |

You know you could just put it in a Bank.
Most High Yield Money Market accounts will get you about 4%, about the new car interest rate.8/11/2006 11:29:50 AM |

Yes thats very true and would have almost the same effect. The only downside would be that it would be easily accessible if you decided you needed something else instead. The temptation would be much higher to go in and raid it for something else. Thats what I'm probably going to do myself, just use the account I have for "Car Stuff" become "Future Camaro" account. 8/11/2006 1:38:25 PM |

Or just wait 2 years after the car comes out for it to be offered cheap. 8/11/2006 1:42:11 PM |

Just cause I start saving now don't mean I'm dropping $texas for the first year. Fuck that. I want a silver Z/28 convertible to match my '97, so I'll probably have to wait to '10 or '11.

People with mullets will be rocking this car in no time, just like every other camaro that's ever been produced. Within a year of its release you'll see so many of these shitboxes on the road that you won't even want one.
The bank is definitely a better idea. 8/11/2006 7:09:29 PM |

Quote : | " ^Yes it has cylinder deactivation on the V-8s. The Corvette Z06 gets like 27 mpg on the highway, so if this isn't tuned up as high, we could possibly see 30 mpg. In fact thats the rumor that is going around, that it gets 30+. " |
While that would be nice, its unrealistic, no doubt they have the capability to, the capability to manufacture High hp, high mpg v8s has been around for decades, but free market capatalism and business alliances dont allow it, but anyway, a High performance v8 such as an LS7 will not get 30 mpg, and most likely not the advertised 28 either; Cylinder deactivation or not, 30mpg in a 427 CID motor is unrealistic.8/16/2006 9:45:42 PM |
