Poor Joe.
I think "independent democrat" is code for "future unemployed."
Of course, it's only a matter of time now before this is presented as proof that Democrats systematically anti-Semitic. 8/9/2006 2:22:56 PM |

Republicans: THE DEMORCATS DON'T HAVE ANY IDEAS!!!
Then the Democratic voters in Connecticut vote in someone who's willing to try to shake things up rather than the guy we thought was "safe" enough to run as VP in 2000.
Republicans: THE DEMOCRATS VOTED OUT A MAN WITH A PROVEN RECORD BECAUSE THE FAR LEFT AND THEIR IDEAS ARE TAKING OVER!!!

The kids on the far right need to start understanding just how unpopular this war is with people who aren't entrenched on one side or the other, because it may be enough to turn one-issue voters on abortion into one-issue voters on the war if this is any indication. 8/9/2006 2:25:33 PM |

Screw Joe Lieberman. I still remember the "Mortal Kombat" trials in the Senate back in the day, with goody two-shoes Nintendo testifying before Congress at his behest about the eeeeevil Sega and their uncensored Fatalities.
Moralizing, snotty Connecticut liberal-turned-paleoconservative with a knack for wasting money on pointless Presidential runs. Enough, already. 8/10/2006 3:49:07 AM |

Quote : | "Officials probe Lieberman Web site crash
HARTFORD, Conn. - U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman's campaign Web site remained offline Thursday, and federal and state authorities were investigating why it crashed on the eve of this week's defeat in a high-profile primary. The site, Joe2006.com, appeared to have suffered from a so-called "denial of service" attack, in which computers overwhelm a site with fake traffic so real visitors can't get through, said Richard M. Smith, an Internet security consultant in Brookline, Mass.
The Lieberman campaign denied speculation among liberal Web pundits that the centrist Democrat's Web site had simply crashed because it used a low-budget Web host unable to handle the volume.
Web hosting can cost anywhere from a few dollars a month for a personal Web site to thousands of dollars for large corporate sites.
The campaign spends about $100 to $150 a month on Web hosting services with MyHostCamp, said Dan Geary, who administers the site for the campaign. Geary said that MyHostCamp, which is owned by a friend of Geary's, gave the site more than enough bandwidth — 200 gigabytes a month — to handle a crush of visitors.
[...]
Visitors to the site Thursday received a message that read in part: "We call on Ned Lamont to make an unqualified statement denouncing this kind of dirty campaign trick and to demand whoever is responsible to cease and desist immediately."
Geary acknowledged that he has no idea who hacked into the site. Lamont's campaign has denied any involvement.
The site also was attacked by hackers a month ago. They were able to replace Lieberman's page with one that said, "We ownz u site."" |

Interesting comment from the White House spokesman Tony Snow (via First Read from MSNBC politics page):
Quote : | "Meanwhile, in today's White House press gaggle, spokesman Tony Snow was asked directly whether the Administration knew of this terrorist plot beforehand (he said yes), and whether they knew the news about it would break today -- just after they had whacked Democrats on Lamont's victory. Snow's answer raised our eyebrows. "Let me put it this way, I don’t want to encourage that line of thought. I don’t think it's fully accurate, but I also don’t want -- I know it's frustrating, but we really don’t want to get too much into who knew what, where, when."" |
