Peyton is a great QB but he'll choke under the pressure to win. Rivers is a great QB and he'll thrive under pressure. If you don't believe that, then you haven't spent much attention to PR the last two years. Many bigtime QBs would have mentally deteriorated by now.

And what do you base this on?? I mean, I love Rivers too, but the biggest game hes ever played in was the fucking Gator Bowl, a bowl that would be a disappointment for Manning to have gone to... and its funny how everyone has forgotten that Monday Night Football comeback that Manning led, one of the greatest ever. Trust me, you give Manning the defense that Brady has had the last 5 years and he would have one at least one Superbowl.

Peyton Manning has had plenty of time and talent on his side but let me ask you this. Do you think Peyton, or even Eli Manning would have stayed cool and worked out for TWO years as a backup after going in the first round of the draft?

Peyton would def. have a hissy fit and Eli wouldn't be shit without his dad and Peyton. Rivers has a better head for the game. Anybody who can go through what PR went through and then play the way he did in his first start is going tobe special.

Think about this: Peyton was given "rookie time" as a starter which means he got to learn trial by fire and mistakes were granted here and there. Rivers has the whole pressure of being the "Savior" of the Chargers and can afford NO mistakes after Brees got traded. Rivers has had critics on his ass ever since he got drafted. Some are still saying that it was a mistake to trade Brees and gamble on Rivers.

Peyton is the son of a football player and has to live up to a standard. He is good, I give him that, but he is not in PR's league when it comes to pressure/performance. Peyton doesn't know what adversity is compared to PR. There is no argument here.

Peyton has 8 years under his belt. He has had time to prove something. He has proved some things. He plays well when surrounded by talent. Just look at Brett Favre.

Dude, Rivers is good, but saying he is better than Peyton Manning, who is probably the best pure QB in the league, is taking it way too far.

He may eventually become better that Peyton (kind of doubt it), and he probably will become better than Eli, but as of now he is a smart, talented, noob.

Where does it say that PR is better than Peyton other than in a pressured situation?

Rivers hasn't proven himself as a league QB but he has shown more courage under fire than any other QB beside Drew Brees.

Rivers had to come out and show the owners/coach that keeping him wasn't a mistake. That is about the worst kind of pressure a QB can have as a first time starter. Pressure from the gitgo.
