John Clayton also said that Cowher won't be coming earlier on "Kickoff."

He said that Cowher would be going to North Carolina after this year...but it would be to take a year off. He then said he would come back and coach another NFL team for a lot of money. He had no evidence to back it up, but just what he thought would happen.

On the first NBC broadcast Jerome Bettis said that he talked with Cowher and he felt this was his last year with the Steelers. It became news for a week because Cowher got pissed at him for revealing details of what he felt was a private conversation. At no time did Bettis mention NC State, so Wilbon was simply referring to the fact that Cowher is leaving Pittsburgh after this season.
