Probably not, especially if I told my Dad how you troll me. But, we could cut off your toes, fingers, hands, feet, knees and other things for me some target practice before noon.
Plus, I doubt you know how to use a gun.

Hey, I'd love to tag along, just to watch and maybe take pictures.
Getting hunting-legal (I assume NC has a no-FMJ law?) for one of my guns so I could, like, whack scary predators or something might be a bit difficult, though. 9/2/2006 5:36:20 PM |

bagged 2 and shot about a box of shells....all my shooting was in the hour after 12...rest of the day was hot as hell and alot of misses. How'd ya'll do? 9/2/2006 7:34:19 PM |
bethaleigh All American 18902 Posts user info edit post |
I shot a box and a half of shells. 2 bagged, 1 lost to trees, 1 broken wing that someone else finished off and took, and lots of clipped tails! One had to have it's head pulled off. It was hot as hell and the mosquitos were everywhere!! My Dad and I are having a tie-breaker Monday afternoon, so it's on then!!
My Dad went into the trees to find the one I lost and jumped a yearling (deer) which ran out of the woods and was close to plowing me down! That was an experience!

We've got some crazy stuff coming out this fall...best job I've ever had working for them. The biggest is a riflescope w/laser rangefinder built in. Although the digital nightvision is cool too.

Also shot it with one of my best friends from NY beside me in the two person stand...he freaked out..lol only have pics on my cell phone. Good thing I did everything legally because a game warden pulled up in my driveway while we had him up bout to skin him. Always pays off to do everything by the book!!! 10/15/2006 10:30:14 PM |

Etiquette question from a hunting n00b...
Ok, so if this is ignored here, i'll have to make another thread so please to answer me this... I am thinking about going hunting this year for the first time ever. I want to hunt on North Carolina Game Land that I've already picked out based on what I can hunt there and how many days per week one can hunt there. That is already settled. What I'm curious about is this: What are the rules of etiquette for hunting on state game land? What if you run into another hunter- keep moving? Stop to chat? Further, what are the chances of running into someone out in the woods? (this land is in the mountains, fyi, if that matters.) Anything else I should know in the realm of etiquette?
And, on a non-etiquette level, are there notices showing where the state land ends and private land begins? Or do you just have to hope your GPS/map/whatever is really really accurate?
Thanks!!! 10/16/2006 11:30:31 AM |
Nashattack All American 7022 Posts user info edit post |
Never talk to another hunter... might as well consider your hunt done if you do... Try to notice them before you come up on them so you can avoid a confrontation
If you do see one, just wave and keep moving.. chances are unlikely tho
As far as private land goes, they SHOULD have it posted... I know we do at our land, but we still get some people who slip on ours cuz of our big deer, but we are pretty nice about it.. others take it dead serious, so dont go on private land. 10/16/2006 12:31:41 PM |

game lands boundaries should be marked w/ orange blazes on trees every so often and also w/ diamond shape sign
i've run into people deer hunting while i'm duck hunting i've stopped and talked every time, but that's been in the middle of the day when neither one of us was actually hunting the only bad experience i've had was w/ two asian guys out hunting who didnt really know what they were doing once they were walking out after shooting time and started yelling at me b/c i didnt have a flashlight i told them i didnt need one the other time they set up to deer hunt very near where i was duck hunting they set up on the ground, on a creek bank, w/ their back to the creek and staring into the thickest undergrowth possible they were also sitting very close to an obvious human trail
