Many that live deserve death. And some die that deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then be not too eager to deal out death in the name of justice, fearing for your own safety. Even the wise cannot see all ends.

RIP

Does anyone remember when this guy walked up to a croc holding his infant in his arms? He took a lot of heat for that one, and I think rightfully so. I don't agree with the folks that think all of his risks were justified, sorry...

His father did the same for him. If you watched his shows at all you'd see how caring he is towards his family, he'd never let that child get hurt.

No offense, but that strikes me as a little foolish.

Possibly, but he was never severly injured from a croc. and through his upbringing a passion was created which allowed him to do all these great things. But I guess short lifespan does fall into the negative category. Oh well, that's life.

'There's blood everywhere': Mum lucky to survive horrific Thailand stingray attack from 'same breed' that killed Steve Irwin
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/theres-blood-everywhere-mum-lucky-10941561

She was stung at the bottom of her foot in Thailand.

Quote :
"She said: "A doctor told me that I was a lucky girl, and the only reason I was alive was because it was a juvenile stingray and it attacked my foot, meaning that the poison didn't have a chance to get further up my system."

The mum returned to the UK on March 5 and went straight to The Royal Stoke hospital.

She said: "I went straight to A&E to be treated back in the UK and they didn't have a clue how to treat me.

"But they were brilliant, I had to wear a full knee to toe bandage for about two months to stop blood clots and had a district nurse come to my house every day to treat me."

The mum had to take three months off work to recover from the injury and needed physiotherapy once a week to strengthen her leg."

Australian teenager in hospital after sea bug attack
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-40846546

Quote :
"An Australian teenager is recovering in hospital after being bitten by multiple "mite-sized sea critters".

Sam Kanizay, 16, found his feet and ankles covered in blood after soaking his legs in Melbourne's Brighton Beach on Saturday evening.

Jarrod Kanizay said his son arrived home with what "looked like a war injury" and that his legs would not stop bleeding.

The family are seeking expert opinion to identify the flesh-eating bugs.

Marine biologists have said they were likely to have been sea fleas, tiny scavenging marine animals.

After a tiring football game on Saturday evening, the 16-year-old decided to soak his legs in the cold bay near his home.

Speaking to the BBC's World Update radio show, Sam described feeling pins and needles in his legs after standing waist-deep in dark cold water for about half an hour.

After shaking off what he thought was sand coated around his ankles, he walked across the beach before looking down and realising that his feet were "covered in blood".

"It bled for ages, and it's still seeping blood now," he said.

"It looked like a war injury... like a grenade attack. It was really bloody," his father told BBC News.

"We got him in the shower but as soon as we did that the blood kept re-appearing," said Mr Kanizay.

"It wasn't clotting at all. It just kept bleeding and bleeding."

After two local hospitals could not identify the cause of the multiple pin-prick injuries, the Melbourne father decided to investigate and went back to the beach.

"I collected these strange creatures from the same spot last night by trapping them in a net and standing in the water myself," he said.

"We got thousands of these little mite-type bugs and they've been sent on to experts."

Mr Kanizay said he hoped the sandy-coloured mites would not scar his son, and he is expected to make a full recovery.

"We are just waiting on the experts to tell us what they are and how they behave and why this happened."

Marine biologist Dr Genefor Walker-Smith, who saw some of the samples, told Australia's Herald Sun newspaper that the bugs were probably lysianassid amphipods, or sea fleas.

"It's possible he disturbed a feeding group but they are generally not out there waiting to attack like piranhas," she said.

Experts have said such cases are very rare and that there is no reason for alarm."

I wanted to post that sea lice story but I thought synapse would have a heart attack, so I did not. I swear if I had posted it, he would have been on my tail telling me to stop, but since someone else posted it, he is fine with it. What a sad hypocrite.

*************************************************

So about the sea lice... watch the second video in the link below to see the sea lice in a small glass dish furiously eating fresh raw meat.

The 16 year old went back to sea the next day with fresh meat in a net and caught them.

https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2017/aug/08/australian-teen-just-unfortunate-to-be-attacked-by-meat-loving-sea-fleas

Watch the first video also to get a perspective on their size.

By the way, I thought they would be slow, but those little fuckers are super-fast swimmers.

FYI the venom (not poison) of a stingray isn't fatal. Just painful. The only way one would kill you would be via a stab wound, as poor Steve Irwin found out.

^^^ LOL thanks!

^^ I thought he died primarily owing to the fact that he was stabbed right in the heart, and pulling out the stinger caused massive bleeding.

^^^well duh, yes if you get stabbed in the heart you will die.

But this woman was stabbed in the foot, and the doctors were telling her she was lucky to be alive b/c the "poison" didn't circulate too far into her body. That's not even close to factually correct.
