Quote : | "as far as in Raleigh, the only place I know of is Enoteca Vin off of Glenwood. It's a rather pricey French restaurant that focuses mainly on wines, but they do serve pommes frites, along with a ribeye that will knock your socks off." |
Everyone should eat at Enoteca Vin at least once (without getting just steak and fries, however good). Ashley Christensen is the brightest star in the area when it comes to chef's. Vin was named as the best food and wine bar spot in the entire southeast by Food & Wine magazine. Their ownership also has their hands in Carloina Wine Company, which explains the great wine list.9/10/2006 9:56:12 PM |

I'm surprised nobody said Bojangles'. I haven't been there in a couple years, but they were the shit back in HS.

I second those folks that said Five Guys... they are really good beach cut fries. There's one at North Hills right by the movie theater... and they give you a LOT of them. 9/11/2006 7:56:37 PM |

The best french fries can be had by making them yourself in a seasoned pan.
Light on the salt, slightly crunchy.
Commercial fries are complete shit. 9/11/2006 8:47:09 PM |

Char grill's fries are great as long as they are really fresh, but diminish in quality by the time you get them home, if you choose to not eat the food there 9/11/2006 8:55:35 PM |

Milltown in Carrboro has pretty good fries styled after Belgian frites. You even get to dip them in a garlicy buttery mayo. They also have a great selection of Belgian beers if you dont mind paying either an arm, leg, both, or first born child. 9/11/2006 9:58:39 PM |

Peel a potato and cut it into long thin strips, then either fry them in about 2 inches of oil or with a shallow fry like hashbrowns. Then season them after they come out of the pan while you "drain" them. Then mix a shot or two of worcestershire with ketchup. That is my fave, but I usually smoke up the apartment with I try to fry things.

yeah, the fries i'm talking about can't be gotten at any place with a drive through window. F Minus for McDonald's too....they just taste...not right. And their ketchup tastes funny, and it only is edible if you eat it with their weird greasy stringy fries. 9/12/2006 5:47:53 PM |
