I just want to ask this?
Do representatives have to live where they represent? I think not Do senators? I think so
I may be wrong on both of those, but I thought that's how it worked. 9/14/2006 4:55:17 PM |

all fed representatives of states have to reside in the STATE in which they are running,
however since senate seats are at-large by nature, they can live anywhere in their respective state...
reps can live anywhere in the state as well and im almost positive that is constitutionally proscribed, but it is not usually politically expedient to do so
google could probably tell you

So...the whole "Hillary bought a house" vs. "Vernon doesn't live there" Is a big flaming pile of stupidity?
Who the fuck cares? Hillary bought a house so she could run to comply with the rules. I think its a douchemove, but she knew she wouldn't win in her actual state of residence and it is within the rules, so get over it
Vernon didn't buy a house because he wasn't required to. Think its a douchemove? Fine, but its within the rules so get over it.
There are plenty more reasons to hate Vernon Robinson than this. 9/14/2006 5:02:48 PM |

well it's not a legality argument, it's more of a desire to be "represented by one of our own" argument...
you're correct, vernon's problems are far worse than his residency,
but it's legitimate if the voters want it to be... 9/14/2006 5:04:03 PM |

Savages, savages, barely even humans.
It's a bizarre layering of paradigms we live in as individuals when you look at it objectively. It's funny that the lyrics of a Disney song from the movie about White People encountering Native Americans aimed at children encapsulates it so well.
Human Paradigms:
1) Humans are biophysically equal, psychologically not. 2) Humans are biophysically equal, intellectually not. 3) Humans are biophysically equal, spiritually not. 4) Humans are biophysically equal, economically not. 5) Humans are biophysically equal, nationally not. 6) Humans are biophysically equal, politically not. 7) Humans are biophysically equal, legally not.
If you ask an individual at what point his value as an individual increases or decreases beyond that of another, you'll note 100% of his answers include one or more descriptions of the latter condition, which conspire to in many ways to justify subordinating the former premise. What's bizarre is that most of us would agree by looking at that list that none of those conditions, the ways in which we are different, is an objective refutation of the intrinsic value of the premise for an individual on objectively verifiable grounds.
We, in other words, do not differentiate the value between one another by biological means. I submit that paradigm is a problem.
That single paradigm is behind all descriptions of the human problems of warfare, fundamentalism, terrorism, nationalism, Republicanism, Communism, Islam, Christianity and every other ideology given a spin on the human wheel of history that I've ever heard or read. 9/14/2006 6:44:04 PM |

unfortunately, waves of violence, gang activity, defacing of private property, this can all be linked to illegal immigration. 9/15/2006 2:37:37 PM |

I encourage everyone to take about 3 hours and listen to the sit downs with Brad Miller and Vernon Robinson from about two weeks ago on the Brad & Britt Show. You don't really need to listen to all of both interviews to get a feel for their thoughts. Brad Miller is a total smartass and it rocks.
And Randy, why did you bring this up again, do you really think this is going to change someone's vote? Or have you finally realized that Robinson doesn't have a chance based on issues so you have to bring up an old and over sensationalized event? 11/4/2006 8:10:39 AM |
