First of all, the mischaracterisation of me as a troll is hilarious. Just because on some topics (mostly philosophy and religion) I prove to argue my point more articulately than others and effectively run their arguments into the ground does not make me a troll. It does, however, make me annoying to theists who don't like staying up at night with hard questions.

Second of all, Randy WOULD think Duke does a good job. This isn't about supressing any ideologies -- it's about supressing horrible methodology that doesn't belong on the boards. TreeTwista is CONVINCED people hate and troll him because he's a conservative; this is patently false. Because of his posting methods, people dislike and troll him. His methods are inappropriate to the soap box, along with many people on the other sides of the issues he argues. I don't see what's so hard about this to understand.

You both didnt post in the TSB with any frequency. And then out of the blue, you both exist here at the same time, with the exact same politics, and equal amounts of inability to form any sort of cohesive argument or stay on track with the discussion. You both arrive to tdub and leave at generally the same time every day, you both don't post much on the same days (9/30 and 10/1 for instance).

If I were to look at a post without the author, I couldn't tell if you wrote it or if he wrote it.

I don't look at my job as ensuring that the people who post in the forum do a good job. that's not my style, and it would be impossibly time-intensive for one (or even 2 or 3, probably) people to do effectively.

i can't help that a bunch of less than politically astute people who are less than skilled at debate comment in the threads--do you really want someone to police things that tightly? where would you draw the line?

furthermore, sometimes I let threads (often started by many of the names repeatedly mentioned in this thread) that are totally worthless on their original merit keep going because other people with at least a half dose of brains have started posting in them.

You seriously haven't read much of his postings over the past week or so. It's really bad. Someone will make a comment, and within 2-3 postings, he will thrown out some "thats wrong" (only thing in the post) or "stop watching the daily show" (only thing in the post) or he'll quote someone's comment and then offer up a red herring. Eventually, the discussion just devolves into bullshit because he either can't stay on topic, can't be bothered to read what he actually quoted, can't comprehend it, or just gives up and starts the name calling.

There are plenty of people with plenty of viewpoints to make the discussion healthy without needing him in there.

And all the above goes for trikk, who is either an alias of Twista, or a buddy that equally doesn't have a clue.

It's one thing to not be as skilled in debate or in discussing some of this stuff (and I'd put myself in the bottom half compared to most of the other more experienced folks) but it's quite another to just be plain outclassed and not belonging.


Hell, back before I took the time to get up to date on current events, I got systematically owned in TSB if I tried to comment, so I stayed the fuck out. These two should too.
