It was nice writing, but I don't agree with every point...guess I'm still on the fence. I appreciate all Chuck has done for the program (aka a shit ton) but he isn't [even close to] the best coach, and he doesn't play well with others. we'll see how this season goes. we better beat carolina.

BTW head basketball coach is a better job here than football and we got stuck with an alumni who said yes after God knows how many we offered.

I hope we end up with a great record, but if that does happen, I fully believe that credit will be due to the players, and not the head coach. You know you have a good coach when you play better than your players' skill level would suggest. We have, over the past few years, played worse, and the success that we have had is due to our players. I'd say the only situation where this isn't the case is with FSU, where Chuck actually does have a knack for coaching against them.

thats bullshit though...thats the same tactic some fans would use on Herb...if we beat Duke, the players got the credit...if we lost to Maryland, its the coach's fault

^^^^^I don't think it's bullshit. Maybe I didn't state it like I should have (and still may not). I think that if we beat a really good team, it means the players are playing as well as they can. Then, when we lose to a team that's worse than us, it's because the players aren't playing as well as they can. Does the amount of skill on our team really fluctuate that much during a season, or is it just a matter of the coaching staff not doing what they should to prepare them? I kinda feel that with the exception of FSU, the coaching staff the last couple of years hasn't out-coached anyone.
