Quote : | "when you had the 600 dollar bill, did you look at calls and see numbers there you didnt know and have to point them out to them or any other ungodly request they throw at you?" |
no, i pretty much just said that the bill was more than i could afford and i was hoping that since ive been a customer so long you all could help me out
a few minutes later "ok sir ive gone ahead and refunded the maximum amount i am allowed to back to your account"
also back when i could barely pay bills each month they always gave me as much time as i needed and never cut service as long as i told them in advance
you must have been a dick on the phone or something
ive also had great experience when i had to fix some problems with my mom's suncom account, and had horrid customer service when i tried to fix a problem on my old sprint bill (that was years ago though, im assuming things have changed)

Sprint back in the day had the shittiest customer service and was notorious for it. They have cleaned up their act it seems. 9/26/2006 4:58:57 PM |

no they were new dates EXACTLY 1 month apart. for example:
original calls were on 8/4 - 8:00, 8/4 - 8:03, 8/5 - 1:14, etc. calls on next bill were 9/4 - 8:00, 9/4 - 8:03, 9/5 - 1:14, etc
and all were to exactly the same numbers listed at the same times the last month. i thought one or two might have been coincidence but there were a shitload, coincidentaly (sp?) the same exact ones that i was credited for.

I had this problem with Cingular like for about 3 times in my 1.5 years with them. So I switched to Sprint. With Sprint, I just called the customer service once in my 2 years with them to just enquire about a charge while I was travelling overseas and they looked at it for like 2 seconds and they said they will refund it. The next day I checked online and it was already refunded..... 9/26/2006 5:12:08 PM |

Quote : | "^ you might have covered this...but what does the detailed billing say? Can you see the calls that correspond to the overage in minutes? I know you talked about the Cingular CS minutes, but what about the other 500 minutes? Are there calls listed there that contribute to that overage? And I assume the calls listed there are not ones you guys recognize...is it just one to two numbers you don't recognize or a bunch? " |
I dont want to disclose too much info on here, jsut because i know i have the upper hand at this moment and dont want to chance it, yea i know i am very cautious
But i will tell you that there arent numbers we dont recognize, but as stated that does mean anything cause they can change the dates, that i knew they could.
Though the one nice thing of talking to my g/f on her cell phone with my cell phone is that i also have a call log of calls i made, including to her and there are GLARING differences between the two, i really hate liars and cingular is nothing but

My first cell phone back in the day I went in best buy to get a nokia 5190 from cingular. The girl that was working tried to call and activate it, she held for over 20 minutes and they did not answer. I then asked her if she had a special number for store activations and she said she did.
By that point I was asking myself why I should sign a contract with a company that was too fucking stupid to get their internal activation number answered in a timely fashion. I ended up walking out with a Sprint phone. 9/27/2006 1:00:05 PM |

i upped my plan last month b/c i'm going to be using my phone for work a lot more. i wasn't sure just how much more though so i kept an eye on my minutes every day until the end of the billing cycle to make sure i didn't go over. sure enough, i get my bill and it's $250.
pleasantly, when i called cingular to bitch both customer service people (both cus i had a dropped call half way through the first) were very friendly, very professional, very understanding and with no hesitation they credited my account and set me up under the correct plan, backdating 6 weeks to save me the most money. nice to see some good customer service from a company and industry that has a reputation for being pretty terrible. 7/10/2007 4:20:19 PM |

I haven't read this entire post but I have Cingular, now AT&T, and I have not had any real problems. I did have a couple of minor issues and contacted them and their costumer service was top notch. I've complained to a lot of businesses about things before over the phone and have had to deal with a lot of headache and hassle but Cingular was by far the easiest to work with.
Very professional and is the main reason I have stuck with them. I've used Sprint, Nextel, and T-Mobile and I think Cingular is by far the best Cellular company out there. I like the fact I have rollover minutes and have yet to get over billed for minutes. I just hope AT&T keeps the same customer support. Look at Sprint cutting hundred of employees that were complaining too much. 7/11/2007 1:25:55 PM |

I've had no billing problems
but calling has been a major issue in the past few weeks. People try to call my phone and it won't connect through to me. I'll try to call someone ~10 times and each time it says Call Failed and gives me the gay beep thing. It pretty much happened right when AT&T bought them/when the Iphone came out. I hoped it would die down but it hasn't. I'm gonna have to call and bitch, which is going to piss me off because I already know it won't help anything, they don't give a shit. 7/11/2007 3:05:03 PM |

weird
i went WAY over (like 800 minutes over) last month, too. i had 700-something rollover minutes, and then my bill came out for about double what it normally is...i apparently had used all of those rollover minutes, and about 60 more.
i coudn't spot the problem, though.
i did also look at my old bill history (i had it on autopay), and most of my bills would be $45-50...every now and then, though, there would be one for $90-100. those are too far gone to go back and look at, though. 7/11/2007 3:33:44 PM |

I've noticed since Cingular was absorbed by AT&T that my service quality has decreased. I get more dropped calls now than I ever have (been with Cingular for over 3 years). I also have more problems making and receiving calls. Additionally the network seems to be busy frequently.
I never experienced these problems to this degree before the merge. 7/11/2007 7:39:10 PM |

I always used to have billing problems with Cingular. Cingular also hires the dumbest people available in the job market to work in their call centers.

I'll be on the west coast when my contract goes up and i was thinking of trying tmobile. they also got the highest rankings for customer satisfaction.
dunno why they are not as popular here. 7/11/2007 10:43:44 PM |

I've had Cingular for 7 years
I had a problem 6 yrs ago when I switched from a regional plan to a nationwide plan and the retards in customer service didn't change it. So i was charged roaming fees for the entire summer that I was in CT and had $500+ bills every month. I was calling EVERY week and talking to someone and they would say they saw that I switched it months ago but for some reason it hasn't gone through in the system. I kept excellent documentation of dates i called and the names of people I talked too. I refused to pay the charges and after calling every week for over 2 months they finally corrected it when I moved back here and went to the store I switched it in and talked to the district manager. Absolutely ridiculous. They gave me a free phone (a nice upgrade).
I've never really had a problem with the actual service until the past 6 months. ever since they merged with ATT and Bellsouth and everyone else, half my calls get dropped and I have trouble even connecting. For a company that advertised themselves as the phone company with the "least dropped calls" it's pretty sad. My husband and a few good friends have had the same problems.
We'll switch as soon as our contract is up..
Oh and i HATE having to wait for 30 + minutes everytime I go to a cingular store. They really need to staff their stores better. 7/12/2007 4:27:47 PM |
