^^ I still disagree with you man. I think it was a great movie and they did a great job incorporating John McClane into the story. I don't think that movie would hav ebeen even close to as good if it was just a movie with some guy that didn't have the hostory that McClane had. the experience you have going into that movie helps to really feel what McClane is all about, and what to expect. I thought it was pretty well written and not just a shitty movie that would have been a flop as the box office so they threw in the "Die Hard" tag.

What I'm saying is I hope Die Hard 4 isn't a shitty movie that is just relying on the "Die Hard" franchise tag to sucker people into the box office. I hope its a great movie.

oh and i forgot that if you watch it, it CLEARLY has the same kind of timeline that you see in the later lethal weapon movies

starting with the white guy doing something stupid/crazy

the ending being set up by the white and black guys being put in some dramatic dead-end situation, that they miraculously get out of, to then chase down the bad guy

in my mind, the only canonical die hard is the first one

watched Die Hard 1 again tonight. it was the first rated R movie i ever saw and after watching it again i remembered how much i like it.

i enjoyed Die Hard 2 alot more than 3. about all i can remember from 3 is that jeremy irons is the bad guy, he's got some kind of chemical weapon he's threatening to unleash on NY, samuel jackson also stars yet again as samuel l. jackson, there's gold bricks involved and bruce willis almost gets fucked up in harlem. i'll probably see 2 and 3 again before 4 comes out.

oh and the title "live free or die hard" ftw, they couldn't have chosen a better one.

this looks WAY too over the top with lame spiderman style CGI action scenes. the first one was great cause they kept it simple. shootouts and explosions, they didnt need cars flying all over the place. i bet this one sucks, regardless i will still see it

I'm going to hold out on judging this thing by its rating. PG13 really just means that they can't show all the gore and can't have as much language. But if the whole movie is shit like those eight minutes, I think this movie could hold its own despite the rating.
