If you were talking about the play I am thinking about...

That was messed up. The commentators were insisting that it was a lateral pass and were focusing on the throw as it related to the line of scrimmage. The pass was clearly thrown from around the 29 yard line and landed on the 31 (forward pass) but these guys kept saying "it's a lateral because it didn't make it back to the line of scrimmage."

Has there been a serious rule change that I am not aware of?
