i knew what a redshirt was but the way the guy described the situation made it sound literal

-he said he would "burn" a redshirt instead of "lose redshirt status"

-he said he would do it in carter finley which wasnt needed. all he needed to say was during the state game. that threw me off some more

-the biggest thing that threw me off was
Quote :
"I talked to him last night and he said he didn't think he would play"

if he isnt playing how else can you burn a redhshirt other than setting one on fire?

-you said he was recruited by state but chose wake and we should give him helll for that if he burns the shirt (im thinking maybe its a shirt we gave him on a recruiting visit here)

-grobe is thiking and doesnt know. you act like its the players decision and the coach is just a spectator to the situation. this makes it sound more like a physical burning of the shirt than a roster issue.

VERY MISLEADING FIRST POST

It just keeps getting better.

Wow. Shouldn't this constitute a ban?? Or do we keep him around for the entertainment value??

when someone "loses their redshirt status" the common phrasing of such an event is "burning a redshirt."

This is not new.

Quote :
"After raising the possibility of playing Josh Adams, a freshman running back, against N.C. State, Coach Jim Grobe said yesterday the decision was still up in the air.

Grobe said that Adams will travel to the game and dress, as will Lucas Caparelli, another freshman running back. But he said he still hasn't made up his mind if he will play Adams, and probably won't until he sees how the game transpires.

"I can't tell you how it will play out,"' Grobe said. "It's not even a game-time decision. It's a during-the-game decision."

Grobe said he was concerned earlier in the week about soreness in Adams' back resulting from lifting weights. But Adams was cleared by the team medical personnel and was practicing with the first team yesterday.

Redshirt freshman Kevin Harris will start, and will be backed up by junior De'Angelo Bryant. Bryant has started the past three games, but lost his starting position when he gained just 6 yards on five carries against Clemson.

Grobe said that Bryant has been more motivated in practice this week.

"He's had a great week of practice, much different than before,'' Grobe said. "He watched himself on film and realizes he has to be more decisive. He's just not making decisions quick enough. And once he makes a decision he's got to get his shoulders down and get north."

Adams, a running back from Cary High School who would be the first freshman to play this season at Wake Forest, said he hasn't lobbied Grobe to play this season.

"I wouldn't mind playing," Adams said. "But there's a lot of things to add up that make you a complete football player coming in the first year.

"I just left it up to the coaches. They know best.""

And hcnguyen is still a fucking idiot.
