puck_it has argued that Wallin shooting it into our net was more embarrassing, but

A) we won that game
B) he wasn't two feet in front of his very obvious target that would've SEALED THE GAME

Nah I've seen guys shoot it into their own net on a number of occasions like that (although granted not with the confidence that Wallin had), but Stefan's blunder followed by his graceful "OHSHIT" tumble into the boards and then watching Hemsky from the other end of the ice as he scores was definitely a new level in hockey shenanigans.

I went to a Sharks game Saturday night. Damn, they pack that place out every night and it's loud. The arena itself is shit compared to RBC or MSG though.. It reminds of Continental Airlines Arena...

Those have been revealed for a while. I thought the league intended to release the jerseys for the 30 teams today, but they were a bit misleading. The material and form-fitting has never been a huge issue to me as a fan; it's how much they tamper with the designs that I am concerned with. At least they decided to to leave them untucked.

These commercials are brilliant. GG NHL for actually getting something right marketing-wise.

^ AWESOME.

So many of those are perfect I feel like I have to point all of them out. Extra credit for Brind'Amour cheating zone, "Hextall breaks your fucking legs" radius, Patrik Stefan Trail of Tears, and "Jesus what the fuck are you doing way out here Hasek" radius.

Yeah, that Cup the Devils won in '95 was a total fluke. If only the Wings had guys like Fedorov and Lidstrom back then, it wouldn't have been so easy.

OH, WAIT.

I guess Edmonton's run to the finals was a fluke too considering there is little hope of them making the playoffs. At least Carolina is still in it.

Trivia time:

which team has won a stanley cup?

A. Carolina Hurricanes
B. Atlanta Thrashers
C. Nashville Predators
D. Buffalo Sabres

I'll give you a while to ponder that one.

I don't the players from Buffalo, just their coach and their fans. "waaa... Brett Hull was in the crease" "waa... our defense wasnt healthy in the ECF or we would have won." SHIT HAPPENS and the great teams are the ones that can overcome that kind of thing, but I guess you dont know how that works being a Buffalo fan and all...

post of the year as far as i'm concerned. and i hope the nhl smacks lindy ruff around for sending out his goons against heatley and spezza's line. that's just chicken shit. if chris drury could keep his head in the game instead of up his ass, he probably would have seen the hit coming. yeah i agree with the whole "protect the captain" blah blah blah agrument. and i agree that if i was lindy, i'd be sending out A single goon as soon as i saw an ottawa player out on the ice that was capable of fighting. but that was just a lame move.

and watch if the nhl is really harsh with him, he's going to whine and complain in the press like he always does with his trademark "it isn't fair" arguments. yes maybe brett hull's skate was in the crease, but your team had ample chances to win that game as well. not the ref's fault your players can't score. and then his tirades after carolina beat them. he's great at trying to shift the blame elsewhere. but come this post season, if buffalo loses out, it falls squarely on him. this is because he's got the talent this year to win it (some players are out due to injury, but most will probably be back by mid-april). i'd like to see him talk his way out of that.

wow so far it is only carolina fans bringing up the whole crease thing...see thats the problem you all only live in the past thats why you team is going no where this year...you all thing oh we won the cup that means were going to be a great team forever...once again you'll be lucky if you make the playoffs...hopefully for you all anson carter makes a difference because right now you usual players aren't getting it done

[Edited on February 24, 2007 at 10:28 AM. Reason : ^also if this was any other team then Buffalo involved in this brawl, you wouldn't give a damn]
