Showtimes for the Galaxy this Friday are 1:30, 4:20, 7:10, and 9:30.

Don't forget to buy lots of concessions!

Yay, crossroads. No offense to the galaxy but it's kind of out of the way. Wish they'd show it at North Hills, by far the best theater around here.

I know you indie junkies will pan me for that, but their sound system/picture is by far the most consistent and impressive. If only the served beer...which is definitely big theatres' downfall.

I'm an "indie junkie" and I fucking love North Hills. It's my preferred mainstream theater.

But how is Galaxy out of the way? I mean, unless you're already in the Crossroads shopping center...It's the same distance from NCSU and parts beyond.

Well I live pretty close to crabtree area so north hills takes zero time at all *shrug*

You know, I'm suprised the Colony or Mission Valley isn't picking it up but I don't know what's been going on with them recently. A good friend of mine manages the colony and he picks all these snoozefests up there. At least their showing some older pictures though, i think the play princess bride this or next week.

I recommended blade runner but he's not sure yet. i don't see the downside myself

^^ Booking classic movies is a lot more difficult a business proposition than you might expect. I've tried it, and it's really hard to make it economically feasible.

I like this movie a lot.
Sure you can compare it to Wizard of Oz, The Labyrinth, Secret Garden, Alice in Wonderland, and the like,....there are plenty of similarities.. shit, you can even compare it plenty to the bible, but I think there is enough originality in this movie for them to get credit. Directing was awesome and visually it was stunning and bad ass.

I saw this at North Hills tonight (the Galaxy times didn't really work out for me ). I watched a screener about a month ago, but liked it so much I had to see it on the big screen. I was really surprised by the audience. The theater was sold out, and I half expected some people to get pissed when they found out it was subtitled. The entire theater was completely silent for the entire two hours; everyone was captivated.

Well people don't usually "rabble rabble" when things are subtitled.

Plus, I have no idea when you'd laugh during the movie. So yeah, silence is more or less the norm.

I saw it at North Hills last night too. I liked it alot, and thought it was beautiful - concept designs were fantastic.

At the same time though, it's got way more brutality than I was expecting. Not a bad thing, but it was suprising.

I definitely recommend it. That little girl is going to grow up into a drop-dead gorgeous and talented actress I think.

Also hilarious were the etchings of baby eatings on the walls and the dude with the lottery ticket. The showing I went to was abuzz with gufaws during these parts, including myself.

But yes, excellent movie.
