But the same people who crucify Herb try (or used to try) to defend Amato and hold him to different standards and saying stuff like "football is harder to coach" or "it takes longer to build football (even though you only keep players for 4 years)" or "any retard should be able to win a national championship in basketball."

Indiana is one of the best high school basketball states in the country.

If he's mr basketball there I will be impressed.
