Yea but I didn't buy GoW for multiplayer per se. I'll prolly get around to it eventually but we're really digging the co op single player atm.

I looked at some of the killboy pictures today; don't be the guys who drive like jerks b/c I'm gonna be out there on my bike. Ironhorse in Stecoah is 30 mins from the Gap and it has cabins and tent cabins.. http://www.ironhorsenc.com.. close and cheaper than a hotel.

Mark and I have GPS indash (we are nerds) so navigation won't be an issue.

I was down with meeting at waffle house since we can grab some grub and head out.

Does it give you rally style navigation? "10 RIGHT OPENS INTO 2 LEFT"...lol

Hanya, just stay alert, like you always should when you ride a bike. You'll be fine. There won't be many asshats out there. Hell, if you're really worried, the best strategy is to find a car that runs at about your pace and follow them. They'll make sure nobodies in your lane.

I doubt any of this group would lane cross...most of 'em probably saw the pics of BBR and know what a car can do to a rider.

Yea Jon, just come by and roll up to wherever our cars are. It should be chill. Give me a call if you're going to be late.

I definitely can't get a speeding ticket because the one I have now (court date friday) can effectively suspend my license for a month. Besides, its not worth risking lives and equipment to do boneheaded stuff.

It will be a fun cruise though.

Karoush and the other d00ds, see you all there.

Yea Jon you should have just gone to the meeting point. I some how actually didn't wake up through alarm + fifty phone calls and had to meet the boys in Winston Salem. Hell of a time though. Definitely ran out of adrenaline.

Also, GG mark on the save from getting a ticket/arrested.

^ Wait, Mark almost got one?

It was fun meeting all you guys in person. Be sure to let me know if you come up this way again, it was great hanging out with some cars that are actually well driven as opposed to the usual ricer numskulls I see around here!

Oh, and post some of the pics of us freezing our asses off

So it was raining up there? I drove the Dragon back in April and the first day we went there it was misting. Pavement was slick... it was a pretty tricky way to learn the course, but it made me cautious. Then the next day it was sunny and dry and it seemed so much easier and more fun.

we drove as if it was dry out there... twas very fun.

mark didnt get one,

golovko, h8r, and i were traveling together, doing maybe 80 in 70...

sandsanta and tjoshea headed out before us and i think there was some eclipse that was trying to mess with them... forgot what happen,

but all of a sudden we saw a trooper just cut the median and speed off past us, golovko called up sandsanta and told him to get off the road for a bit, so he did and the trooper pulled the eclipse over that was trying to race sandsanta.

close calls..

Parts of the run were the whitest knuckled driving I had ever done. Going one way of the Skyway all I could see was Tjoshea's tail lights and maybe on occasion Golovko's due to the thick fog. Going the opposite way, I was the lead car and everyone else had gotten stuck behind some grand am, I couldn't see anything around me: headlights, trees, road, anything. Just white fog.

It cleared up and stopped raining so once we hit dry pavement we opened it up and it was amazing going down the mountain at those speeds.

The Dragon itself is a very unusual road: you go from elevation change hard left to an elevation change hard right for about 6 miles of road. Luckily, at night nobody else was on the road so we ended up driving pretty spirited and even setup proper turn in and turn out. Killboy himself (according to Jek) actually caught up to us and drove by in his silver evo with two honks when we had finished the run.

It would have been much better if it had not been raining but the crap weather was excellent practice for wet weather technique.

We even got props from one of the local knuckleheads who was trying to keep pace in a ford ranger.

The drive back, on the other hand, was a complete fucking failure for me. Aside from getting a ticket, by the time I had gotten to 40 E Raleigh - Durham split (separated from the others due to the patrol car) the road was basically a lake and I definitely didn't feel comfortable going faster then 55. Anytime I picked up speed I'd hit a pond and the steering would get limp. Going from Gboro all the way to raleigh at 55 mph takes forever.

The Eclipse Incident:

I'm just going home at about 80mph (speed limit 70 - before gboro) and this fucktard in an eclipse gets next to me, downshifts, and floors it. The road, mind you, is completely covered in water and the wake his piece of shit car creates drops visibility down to 0. He keeps getting next to me, and flooring and all I'm doing is accelerating in 6th and either going ahead of his shitty car or having him barrel by me going 120 in rain. I decide against trying to outrun him since obviously he has no fear of going 120mph+ in a car looking like Paul Walker's eclipse in FNF (after it got shot up) and I ease down to 60mph.

That fucktard took it as a sign that I wanted to drop the hammer and race so he gets up next to me and does his rice antics of pulling ahead, then slowing down. I flash him with my high beams once when he's a head because at this point I'm getting thoroughly pissed. Every puddle I go through reminds me of Ahmet's Earnhardt maneuver on 40 but the dickwad interprets my high beams as the Ricer bat signal and gets even more excited.

Right at that point, I my cell phone rings and I pick it up.

"uhh dude."

"Yo mark whats up"

"yea, get off the highway right now because this unmarked cop car just slammed on his brakes, did a U turn and plowed past us"

Right then I saw the exit for the rest area so I pulled off, parked, and headed into the bathroom to take a massive shit that I suddenly felt the need to take.

Couple miles down the road, the eclipse gets pulled over.

I wait a few more minutes, and calmly pull out of the rest area, nerves completely shot, barely going 60 mph. As I approach the eclipse and the cop, the cop turns his lights off, floors his car in reverse, and then floors it in gear and gets right next to me.

At this point, if anyone had seen my face, they probably would have seen me completely white. I mean the cruiser was literally right on my right passenger door. We stay like this for what seemed like the longest 5 seconds of my entire life and he then just eases ahead of me and pulls off a couple exits down the road.

I got so scared after that incident that combined with my hydroplaning on the lakes on 40, I didn't go faster then 60 the rest of the way home.

Let me reiterate. 60 all the way to Raleigh from Gboro takes like five million hours.

Ahahahah, awesome. Glad the riceboy got taken and you made it, Sandsanta

I, on the other hand, got to sit totally still for 45 minutes on the way home for no apparent reason right after I-81 split off from I-40. It sucked, I almost chased you guys to Asheville to join ya for dinner, lol.

Lots of good stories from this trip...#1 thing is: FOG SUCKS! Especially when Rednecks get pissed at your HID's and start swerving all over the road and yelling at you, lol.
