"having a gun is ridiculous... its bein a thug..."

AT HOME????? I guess everyone who owns a firearm, registers it, and has it at home must be a thug.

The incident earlier this year occurred at SOMEONE'S HOME. If someone robs your home (which happens quite a bit in their neighborhood), shooting back is not against any law. In fact, Miami-Dade police never charged Merriweather- because his weapon was at home and REGISTERED. There wasn't anything "gansta" about it.

You guys are jumping to conclusions blindly and showing a lot of ignorance. This kid was not some ghetto-trash. He was a human being who was murdered- not because he was "asking for it."

Good for you! Wow, that must make you unique!
Let me tell you, Liberty City in Miami is one of the most impoverished and downtrodden inner-city areas in the country, much worse than Asheboro. But thats besides the point. Bryan Pata wasn't some kid who did anything to deserve getting murdered.
Admit it, you jumped to conclusions and you are flat our wrong about it.
