What a dumb fucking statement. We have been top 4 in the ACC 4 out of the last 5 years and then you predict this year we come in last and yet you are going to be happy.

Herb left us with no one. I understand that our recruits left b/c he left but I still think that we will be better off in the long run. It doesn't take all that much to get into the NCAA tourney when the ACC is down over the last 5 yrs and we play an ooc schedule that rivals north carolina school for blind nuns.

I don't hate herb. Just didn't like his coaching style. I thought it wasen't getting us anywhere and it didn't. Over 10 yrs we had 1 sweet 16 appearence and no acc championship. I know its NC state but we should at least get more thatn one sweet 16.

Actually you made another dumb statement. If you play a cake schedule, you don't get rewarded. Last year GW went 27-2 and got a 8 seed. Plus when the ACC is down, they take less teams making it that much harder to get into the tournament. We beat GW, ND, and Bama out of conference. Our cake schedule was ranked like 40th out of 339 last year. Real easy.

Of 40th out 339....We beat Bama, who was an 8 seed..ND who didn't make the dance, and GW who flopped in the end. Our teams were never really that good other than the year we beat UCONN, and even that year we had trouble in the middle of the year...

I will agree that it was an great thing that he got us to the NCAA tourney b/c its something Les couldn't do but he wasen't maximizing his talent. The best players didn't want to come play for him b/c of his offense. I know its hard to compete with Duke and Carolina but look what lowe has done alread getting hickson, smith, and probably the best player in NC. I don't think herb ever got a top 20 guy..or maybe one in 10 yrs (Costner). It was time for a change.

OMG dude don't be this ignorant. It is so easy to prove you wrong.

We had a guy named Julius Hodge, hopefully you remember him, he was the #1 high schooler to actually go to college. Scooter Sherrill was top 20, so was Damien Wilkens. Hell just last year he brought in Costner and Fells, both were 5* recruits. Don't be ignorant.

ok i was really wrong about that...its late im dumb on that remark...but i am right that he didn't utilize his talent. I mean the players didn't seem to like him. Look what grant said about him this year. He may be one player but still, I think we will be better off in the long run.

I give him respect that we were able to win some games again but still, it seemed like we shoudl ahve been alot further along then we were after 10yrs...

Neither did Virginia, Wake, FSU, GT, or Clemson. I didn't even include BC, Miami, and VT in that list, but obviously they haven't either.

Unfortunately Duke has dominated the tournament lately, and if you blame Herb for that then you also have to blame the coach of every other team Duke beat winning their 7 tourneys over the last 8 years.

Herb's coaching was so frustrating...The 8 min scoring droughts. The time outs with 30 sec left to set up a play that would fail b/c the time would run out. The not calling a good play out of any time out. Stuff like that really gets old. His best coaching move in 10 yrs was not calling a time out when hodge beat UCONN.

well, looking at the ACC, especially with teams struggling of late (see Wake, Miami, BC, VT and UVA), I'd say we have a good chance of winning 5 to 6 games (maybe more if we can steal a few here and there), which would put us in the NIT. That would be an accomplishment for this team.

Roy has been there for 2 years...and he won a national championship. You can bet that 10 years from now if they haven't won an ACC title or NC again and haven't gone further than sweet 16 in one year that UNC will be calling for his head.
