We should take a tally.

Everyone quote the tally and add their own.

Mixed reviews I guess, but the overwhelming majority of the reviews are negative.

"One question hovers over the carnage, though: Whom the hell are we supposed to root for? The closest the movie comes to sympathetic assassins are its hit ladies, yet the payoff to their subplot is the weakest of the bunch."

pretty accurate

critics don't like it.

most people who watch it do like it.

if you want to go and experience a great action movie...you'll like it.

if you want to see an academy award winning movie...go see something else like pan's labyrinth or last king of scotland.

I wanted to experience a great action movie. I was preparedin the event that it was one of those "shitty" action movies that are entertaining like Transporter 2. but I still didn't like it. same for the 2 ppl with whom I saw it. the little bit of halfway decent action was not a big enough payoff for the shittiness of the rest.

I really enjoyed the movie... I thought the "Crazies" or whatever they were called were hilarious.... the ending was kind of a let down though in my opinion

It seems to me they should have made it over multiple movies, like kill bill. Just too rushed and underdeveloped. They spent more time on the ADD kid than some of the assasins. what gives?

haha the add kid is an example of the failed attempts at humor (?) I was talking about. along with Bateman.

i guess i live in a cave so i have never seen the add kid. I thoght that shit was funny. The movie wasnt anything special but i was entertained. If you are in the mood for action and not too much more then I would recommend.

Also: is it really a twist ending when they give it away with 45 mins left?

i loved the movie

I didnt see the "twist revealed 45 minutes before the ending" as ^^^ said, but I did think the ending was a throwaway one

kinda left a bad aftertaste to an otherwise great flick, in the same vein as Skeleton Keys ending made up for the hour or so of crap you gotta suffer through, haha

This movie just wasnt very good.

What was the reasoning for the FBI agents at the hotel to not be informed of the change of plans?

I thought it sucked.

The ending was predictable and the parts that weren't predictable were just stupid.

Way too many sideplots that had no purpose or reason to be in there.

I mean, why even have the bailbondsmen(Affleck), and why have them go to the hotel and meet the lawyer for 5 minutes?

Why have the guy who survived from the lake go to the cabin with the weird kid?

Why show the main character totally destroyed that his partner died, when we've only seen said partner for 30 seconds of screentime?

Yea, for a rental it's not bad. But if you paid 7 bucks to see this in a theatre I can see how you were disappointed.

finally saw it in witherspoon, I liked it a lot. Of course I did not know the cast and I had no expectations either.

Actually I completely expected the ending and it was kind of fulfilling. All about the FBI 'big picture' screwing the little guys, giving anything, sacrificing anything for some ultimate goal, (reminds me of Spy Game's message) it was a very vindicating ending. Of course a lot of people walking out of the theater didn't 'get it' and they were confused and whining about it. I'm not saying it was really deep or anything, but I liked the way it played out. Take it for what it is, a nonstop gun ballet action movie, but I liked all of the elaborate hitman schemes and disguises. I'm also not much of a film snob, especially when I'm paying a buck fifty for it.

On the Cast:

I can't believe that they casted Ryan Reynolds as this serious, up and coming agent who had the most demanding role in the film. At times he either looked like a kid with his headphones on or a brat sitting at the table next to the legend Liotta. In other scenes it was just obvious that he could not pull the drama out of him to save his life. At the ending it looked like he was getting ready to pop some smart comment rather than to convey the emotion that you would expect for the final showdown. I am not saying that he is a bad actor, because he has certainly performed well in different roles, but he just does not fit the needs at that position. At the very least the crew should have switched him and Affleck.

Piven- Wow, what an A+ performance. Nothing to take away from Reynolds, but Piven was his counterpart in this film and he clearly out-performed him in every aspect of the game. His lines were delivered better, quicker, and with more passion. Without a doubt, Buddy Isreal was the most entertaining character in the film.

Liotta - Disappointing, why was he in this film?

Common - Surprisingly good for such a late transition into acting. I wish that they would have had more of his character and less of that Bulgarian Hugo.

Garcia - Very good, but like Liotta, his full skill was not realized and they would have been better off hiring someone else to bring in a better guy for Reynolds' role.
