And whats age got to do with anything? A freshman, who had no experience playing at the level of ACC play, beat out all but four other people for 1st team all ACC, including everyone on NC State's upper classman squad last year.

He's just a good player that has the opportunity to play at a school that gets alot make that a TON of attention be it warranted or not. There are other kids at other schools that are probably better and get the hype from the media in that area, but due to them not being at a nationally recognized school for basketball like UNC they do not get the attention of the media therefore creating a unfair media bias. now you can state all you want that those kids would get that attention, but no one really knew adam morrison till last year, same goes for kids at other schools like Noah at Florida, until his Championship run no one noticed him...it all goes back to the media and the outlets that are presented and the national spotlight that is cast on these certain universities. Hard to imagine anyone at say a D-II team getting any national credit then going to the NBA and having a better career than someone at say Duke, UNC, Kansas or Syracuse but it happens. It all pertains to the individuals school recognition and media distribution as well as the general populations view of that team and their need for someone to brag about.

its not about hating carolina because they are good or what not, its about hating a player that gets hype for no particular reason other than being on a nationally prestigious team and therefore getting more opportunities than someone at a smaller school.

you bring up Philip Rivers, but every time i've ever been to other message boards like FSU, Clemson, GT, etc. they have nothing but praise for him. they wished he had been on their team. one FSU board was doing a greatest players you ever saw play/best ACC players ever and Rivers was usually in the top 3 often right at 2 behind their near-godlike Charlie Ward. Rivers was a good player, competitor that played with a lot of class, and didn't whine every damn time to the refs when shit didn't go his way like the way Morrison, Reddick, and Hansbrough seem to do. i hate Tyler Hansdouche b/c he gets away with a ton of shit that the refs don't call, and whenever he does get away with it a lot of the announcers blow him afterwards instead of calling him out on it. i won't deny that Hansbrough is a good player, but the hate isn't there b/c he's a good player, it's there b/c he's a cocky asshole on the court. a lot of non-State fans hated Hodge too b/c he was cocky as well. Hodge didn't always get away with shit every game.

I remember hearing from one of the players that Hans was in the practice gym and stackhouse was in there as well shooting around and hans went and dunked near him kissed his biceps and said 'get in the weightroom'

so then stackhouse proceeded to cross him over and dunk on him and told him to get in the NBA first.

so yea hes got a lil cocky side to him, the same reason people hated Hodge that werent NCSU fans or didnt know his true side.

^^What he said, but Hodge is in the same class as Hansbrough as far as getting away with shit...the only difference is that Hodge didnt bitch and cry when he got called, where Hansbrough acts like someone stole his dog when shit doesnt go his way. If I weren't an NC State fan, I probably wouldnt have like him though.


And Hodge didnt get sucked off by the media NEARLY as bad.
