Dude, we're not even competing with Wake Forest and UNC right now.

That's why Amato is worse than Herb. And if Louisville can compete for a BCS Bowl...NC State can. It would be fucking hard to do...but it can be done.

*On a side note...your last post was hilarious with all of the generalizations of State fans and tailgating. I pretty much agree with 99.9% of what you say about our fans.

We are 27-63-6 overall in football against UNC, explain to me how we are supposed to beat them? They had alliance bowl/ BCS worthy teams in 96 and 97, this is the type of post that UNC fans will use as a punchline to describe "delsuions of grandeur" by wolfpack fans and the like at wine and cheese gatherings, adn sadly, I'd have to agree. However, I still think Chuck is worse than Herb in a slight contest.

Recently we should have. After Peppers left, we should have started a winning streak that should still be going to this day.

Herb at least beat UNC when they were at their worst (Doherty). Other than this past year, UNC has always had a better team than us in basketball. So I never really got the "We should at least beat UNC!!!1!1!!1!" type bullshit.

The way you guys act, Wolfpack supporters only have two choices.

Either

you support State basketball (the sport we should succeed at)

or

you support State football (the sport we should suck at)


You can not look at a historically horrible football program and hope for progress.

and

You can not look at a historically rich basketball program and hope for continuancy.


The "what have you done for me lately" approach is tired, seriously.

Money is money. Money doesnt get tired.

If you have the money you can buy the players. You can buy them outright like the SEC does (cold hard cash homie), you can buy them like the West Coast does (cold hard blonde sluts homie), or you can buy them with a mix of the two.

The typical athlete does not give a damn who averaged 20ppg in the regional finals (Laettner) or threw for 400 yards in a bowl game.

The typical athlete is thinking money & sluts.

If you cant grasp the fact that NC State has nothing to offer in either FOOTBALL category compared to Georgia and USC you are in either an EXTREMELY good looking guy or just in denial.

We will never have a consistently successful footbal program until we ween our limited supply of fine girls off mashed potatoes, or start pouring out money the way the SEC (see arkansas, aubun, tenn) does.

Personally, id rather keep my own money and keep realistic expectations when it comes to football.

In basketball all you have to do is manipulate a few guys, not an entire team that is 3-deep at every position.

Sometimes you get a nerd like J.Hodge who isnt interested in hot girls or money (the money we gave him in '04 to return was not substantial b/c Herb would not allow more than 20k) and will play for you. One guy is enough to make you a CONTENDER (look at Grant Hill in '94) if not a CHAMPION (look at Carmelo in '03)

Who was the only team in the ACC to get swept by UNC in the 2003-2004 season in roundball????? For the love of God, Clemson and UVA both beat UNC that year and we didn't

Facts in earl style:

NC State football sucked before you were born, while you grew up, and while you attended college.

There was a brief period where we thought we were good because we loaded up on shitty teams and started off well, but once we hit ACC competition we got exposed as the average team we were.


Duke won an ACC title in 1989.

UNC has more starters in the NFL than we do.


You guys are clinging to two statistical anomalys (Holt and Rivers) who were AMAZING college players in an effort to pretend we were great at one point.

Newsflash, L.Tomlinson was a BADASS in college and they couldnt even go .500 with him as a starting RB. He's now about to win the MVP in the NFL and yet he wasnt enough to make an off-conference team go .500

Very quickly, go find NBA leaders who couldnt make a weird team good.

Steve Nash made Santa Clara dangerous. J.Kidd made Cal good. Dan Fucking Dickau (who barely graced the NBA with his presence) made the G-zags good.
