He has done some sick shit on that show other than that. Like eating off the dead zebra that some vultures are eating off of and biting into that live fish and breaking its backbone to kill it.

Having some sushi straight from the source is nowhere near as disgusting as drinking shit juice.

I think they need to have a real life celebrity death match, and the winner can be crowned the one and only "Survivor Man"

They could both be thrown into a pit with a multi tool, a flint, a water bottle, and parachute, and see who can kill the other the quickest.

dude, im watching this guy right now bear grylls totally blows this douche away. first off, this survivorman has flares, a knife, a raft, freaking goggles, a pot, bags, a flashlight, a goddamn radio, a change of clothes, etc.

bear does his shit with just a knife and water bottle

oh yeah, and bear MADE his raft by hand, he didnt get some fancy inflatable raft... what now?

Survivorman usually starts with a few knick-knacks to make do with and how he uses the most odd thing to survive would make McGyver proud. Plus he's Canadian. Nuff said.

you are a fucking idiot

Les has never set off with all of that. he pretty much only has a mutlit tool, no food, no water and something wrecked that he pulls shit off to use

Les is also...ALL ALONE while Bear has a whole crew with him. Les has to do all his own camera work and again, he is alone

Bear is a bad ass but if i were lost...i had rather be hanging with Les anyday of the week

i don't know where you get off calling someone a fucking idiot. second off, if anyone here is a "fucking idiot" as you say, its you. I'm not trying to start any shit. man I just watched the goddamn show this morning... he most def. had all that shit with him. you can't really call yourself a survival expert if you take a break during the middle of the excursion.

hell, i could have done what he did if I had all that equipment.

plus his show is boring as hell.

break bread.

plus, he had a rescue boat pretty much circling him the whole time.

[Edited on March 2, 2007 at 2:36 PM. Reason : the episode where he is "stranded" on a life raft]

Well first of all he always has a multitool/knife/whatever you want to call it. Second, the premise of his show is, "What if you get stranded out doing XXX...", and using that, you get the things that any normal person would have in that situation. In that situation, he got a life raft and most of that stuff that comes in the life raft package like flares.

Yes, there was a boat near him and that's what the radio was for. When he is out completely alone in the middle of the ocean there's no telling where he can go and what will happen. It's easy for Bear to get out on a raft and do the same thing when he's got a whole bunch of people filming him do it that probably have boats of their own.

thats my point, sure les doesnt have a camera crew, but he had a whole rescue team... so there really isn't much difference

no because that episode is the only instance in all the shows he's done where he's had a crew watching out for him

What?? It's the same exact thing. They both have a bunch of people out there making sure they don't die.

That particular episode of Survivorman is by far the weakest one he's filmed. Keep watching. The other episodes blow Bear out of the water.

I find Bear more annoying. Maybe it's the accent, but he seems like he'd be an arrogant prick.

ok, so im watching your boy now... i have to say he isn't bad, but he still brings in a lot of stuff. I'm only 5 mins in so I'll keep watching, but it doesn't look good for him. Per wiki: He is dropped off with only his clothes, a backpack for his camera equipment, his trusty harmonica (if only to keep his morale up), and a multitool. He is typically given minimal supplies (such as one energy bar, a pack of gum, a credit card, etc.) to emulate a real-life survival scenario. Les also travels with a satellite phone, for use in case of an emergency during the filming process.
