You can say what you want about Wilkins and Powell, they both made NBA rosters, it would have been nice to have them play 4 years in raleigh. 12/2/2006 2:38:09 PM |

^^agreed............but we lost quite a few recruits while herb was here though (Adam Simons, Mike O'Donnell, Trey Guidry, Dom Mejia, Justin Flatt)......I really think if Dom Mejia had stayed he could have been a solid player because he just about carries Drexel right now.

Updates on our 2008 commits so far:
http://www.ncprepsports.net/bbaskLeaders07.htm
CJ Williams averaging 26 pts/8 rebs so far this year.
http://northcarolinastate.scout.com/2/596766.html
Julius Mays scoring 36 in a win going up against Ohio State's higher ranked recruit for 2008.
I'd say they are doing pretty well and should definitely be rising in the rankings. 12/2/2006 2:42:13 PM |

Ahahahaa. What a terrible post. Mejia? He would be behind Braxton and Nieman on our team now. Bartosz is better than Simons was. Guidry was solid, I hated he left. Flatt I don't remember where he ended up.
Point is why hate on Herb when these guys left because they knew they couldn't cut it in the ACC?12/2/2006 11:13:16 PM |

Just think how crazy it would have been if we had last year's roster matched with Sidney's coaching and play style. If the players we had last year could have just played in ways that suited their skills vs. being forced to run Princeton all the time, we could have had an amazing run. Bennerman, Ced, and Grant would be outstanding with Sid's system, and Bethel and Atsur would give us depth at point guard/ long range shooters...... 12/2/2006 11:24:05 PM |

Yes, Larry Harris is, and has been, the man. It was a great day when it was announced that he had decided to stay with NC State and Sidney Lowe instead of following Herb to ASU. I expect that also played a factor with our recent recruits and the new ones that still decided to stay when Herb left. That probably also is a big part of how Sidney could still land such a decent first recruiting class even though he himself could not start recruiting until he finished his degree late last spring. 12/2/2006 11:54:13 PM |

^Umm Michael Bell never played in the A10....that Mike Bell for Temple is a totally different one.
The one that sat the bench here named Michael Bell transfered to Florida Atlantic. Get you information straight when you talk shit. He was the ATLANTIC SUN conference player of the year. This is Campbell's conference. Big loss there. Quit hating on Herb.
ALL of the Herb lovers love Sidney now, so stop with the hating. Sid is the man. 12/3/2006 1:52:11 AM |

well i can't speak for everyone, but i can certainly speak for myself. to this day i still support herb, but i love what sidney has done so far. hopefully we can keep larry harris around to keep finding top talent and getting them to think about the pack before anyone else has a chance.
cj williams and julius mays are going to be just plain sick. i think the only thing that could potentially stop both of them from being top 50 recruits is the fact that they committed here, but i'm not even sure if that will stop them from the sound of things.
i'm excited about the next few years of basketball, including this one. while i'm still tempering my hopes of making the tournament this year, i definitely think we'll do a lot better than most people are expecting. i think we will probably at least make the NIT, and if we can stay healthy and ferguson is the real deal, who knows? it's too early to tell right now, but i'm definitely enjoying a 0 in the loss column. hopefully i can still say that on monday.12/3/2006 3:10:18 AM |

with all this football coaching fever, i gave in and got scout premium and was reading insider stuff from earlier in the season and a few players said they would've transferred if harris had not have stayed. i don't remember who and i'm not going to bother to look, but i was shocked at how much of a difference it did make.12/3/2006 3:58:07 AM |

Green "committed" to us before we ever offered. Apparently there was some bit of confusion, in that he felt we were giving him a scholarship when he was really a recruit of some interest. I believe he was more of a backup option, and we have never offered him. Not sure if is looking at other schools or has any interest in walking on. 2/2/2007 11:20:01 AM |

I really love the recruiting as well. I've given him a pass for this year, so even as disappointed as I have been, I won't hold it against him. If he brings in all his kids and we still don't play defense and suck ass at passing and free throws, then I'll have something to complain about. 2/2/2007 12:35:09 PM |
