your road racing remarks have no place in this thread.



as car enthusiast you need to at least respect/enjoy all sorts of racing. just because you've done a couple track days, that doesnt make road racing the best sort of auto sport out there. just remember, you use to goto the drag slip, and i didnt hear any of this back when you where there.

people have different preferences, they build drag cars for a reason, and people built track cars for a reason. like callahan said, dont come in here claiming road racing is the most elite.

but one thing i can say, road racing Gs are not the same as the drag strip. i highly, highly doubt you will get tunnel vision at a road course. but you will in a drag car. and that is fucking fun

nigga i went like twice and it wasn't all that fun then. i'm not saying road racing is the best or anything...i'm just saying i've done drag racing a few times and i didn't find it all that exciting. i am entitled to my opinion. and i didn't bring road racing in here...i'm just saying that 130mph isnt all that impressive. tons of cars can trap at that speed with the right mods.

I actually went to a local grocery store with a local, unidentified gimp, to race the electric scooters there...but there was only one available. It's alllllll about the race.

130mph isn't that impressive when you've got plenty of room/time to get there. doing it from 0mph in a 1/4 mile is fairly impressive.

until you've actually driven a fast car on the strip capable of such, stfu.

^^ yeah thats somewhere in the 2 or possibly below 2 second 0-60 range

basically you didn't have fun at the strip cause your car was too slow

any car can be fun at a road course... just drive it faster.

ohh and the troll comment with the evo is spot on... just don't hit the grass like the bitch in the vid.

5 bucks says in a normal car you'd have a slower lap than someone who's never done a track day cause your car wouldn't fix driving in too deep etc. for you.

it means put the sti drivetrain (EVERYTHING) into a GC8 ( think 90s) imprezza

this isn't the best i don't think he did the suspension cause you have to use widebody fenders
but what you end up with is an sti that doesn't have to pass emissions and weighs 500lbs or more less then the new model.

Nope, but neither is an S2000...and mine was still boring as hell at the drag strip. My CBR600RR on the other hand, is a blast. And I suck badly enough at launching that I'm only running high 11's on it too. Cars are so heavy that they have to be pretty damn powerful to give you the kind of G forces that really make the 1/4mi fun. Trapping the 1/4mi at 135mph+ on my CBR is an incredible feeling.
