prolly 65 tops in that thing. ill keep my eyes open at the bone yards though, maybe i can pick up 2 more 39s or a set of cheap 36s for it. if not, i can always get a cheap set of rims and drive it there on the 225s then switch em out when i get there. better gas mileage that way anyway

i think you have gotten some good advice, amongst other things. don't run tubes. it's a bad idea. get some used tires cheap. you can KILL someone if a tube blows, especially w/ a large sidewall and a long way for your rim to fall, possibly rolling ur truck and killing or hurting you. to tell you the truth i'm glad the truck is in ohio. that way i know you won't be blowing tubes when i'm on the road. get some real tires man. paint, engine, all that is up to you but don't endanger other people's lives for no good reason.

to toyotafj40s- wat r u runnin the 318 in out of curiosity? i know that its gonna take a lot of work to have somthin out of that truck, and im prepared to do it. i paid a thousand for it and the dude threw in the tires. it runs solid as a rock, and the engine had a rebuild prolly right around 100k, just to keep it in great shape. im not sure what all i'm gonna get into with the motor this summer, ill prolly put a chip in it, and a cold air intake and a new carb. im thinkin about boring it out too. not sure yet though. i might try and and find one of the older 350 4 bolts and drop that in there instead. but i'll prolly wait on that and spend some more money gettin her to look decent too. I'm gonna look into changin the rear axel, or i might step down a size in tires. i can put 35 in. Procomp mudterrains on for nearly the same price as just 2 new 39 mickey tompson baja belted's. and that would be better for gas mileage anyway. even then though, ill prolly want to do somethin with the rear end. if anyone would like to offer serious advice on that i would be happy to hear it. (i'll start another thread for it). and i realize that since im a noob i have a bit of hazing and harrasment to go through, i guess i over reacted a lil bit. thing is i want to get into workin on cars and stuff, but i don't have the background knowledge that a lot of yall do. my dad never used to work on our cars, cept for changin the oil himself sometimes. so, thanx again for all the advice on the tire situation yall

also... you probably should have researched this buy before going head first in it. do you even know if that tranny can hold up to wheeling abuse? did you check the frame out for rust? i think you jumped head first into it bc u got excited.

i must admit i did that once with a turbo 240 and those kinds of cars, just like ur truck can easily become a huge money pit. there are a buncha things i would like to do to my truck but honestly in the end it costs so damn much.

make sure u go pricing stuff out and it would be a good idea to concentrate on one area at at time, say suspension or body work. fuck the engine if it runs fine dont go rebuilding it to make more power. it makes plenty now!

it sounds like you've got ALOT of learning to do before you even begin talking about motor mods/swaps, etc.

the carb/chip comment is about as bad as blinker fluid or something. fyi, 87 was the first year for tbi. you shouldn't even have a carb unless it's been changed over or it's a non original motor.
