^^ there was nothing about that foul that should have resulted in a fight. i was expecting a foul much worse. him being kicked out of the game should have been the end of it.

and carmelo showed everyone how much of a pussy he is haha. not only did he sucker punch the guy but he ran away like a little girl. and his form on that punch was bad - i think it was that loud because he swung and actually hit him with the base of his palm near the wrist. almost like a slap except his hand was closed. definitely a pussy punch.

bringing a gun to a karate competition would not be appropriate, because it's not part of the sport


if fighting was incorporated into the action of basketball from the beginning, or if basketball was an overtly violent game, then no one would give a shit there's a fight.

Basketball is a very not violent game, thus why it's unnacceptable to fight

i agree, fighting is part of hockey. thats why there are penalties for it, not ejections. thats why when two guys get into it, it (usually) doesn't end up with the entire team going at each other.

stern is just trying to clean up the 'thug-life' image the NBA has developed - he started with the dress code, and suspending dumbasses for fighting when they wanna act like they're back on the playground is the next step.

^^ Hockey fights can and have spilled into the stands. Two notable incidents include the entire Bruins team climbing into the stands and Mike Milbury beating a fan unconcious with his own shoe, and a drunk fan falling into the penalty box with Tie Domi and getting his face beat in. Also, there are no pads on their hands or faces during a fight.

the problem wasnt the fighting, tensions flare in sports sometimes. the problem was not stopping when you have refs and coaches trying to break things up and you are still swinging. theres always a little room for fighting in sports, but not like that.
