Another awesome episode this week. Things are moving quickly.

Verenus is spiraling out of control, but I'm hoping the new development can bring him back.

I'd really like to see him come back as the protagonist in this series, rather than the tragic ending he seems to be barreling towards.

I really hate the new Octavian. I know the reason they had to get rid of the old one and all, but I say it's still a bad move.

The new one just seems too dry and dull, and the scenes with him in it are totally boring. Especially the speech after the victory, when we should be getting goosebumps, all I could think was

this has got to be one of the fastest moving dramas hbo has done. most of the other ones can be very slow at times. every episode on this one gets better and better.

^ Probably because of the cost to shoot each episode. Even for a network the size of HBO partnered with the massive BBC, this series would probably bankrupt them if it went for too long.

Awesome episode. I still hate the new Octavian compared to the old (age be damned), but he did improve slightly in this episode.

His character however is awesome. But he's got nothing on Attia.

it's definitely pretty close. And I love all the subtle things they put in there (for example: the confession of a slave only being valid under torture).

I even noticed a lupercalia reference in there somewhere.

Its close enough. They get the spirit of the events across correctly.

The whole series apparently costs $100 million dollars. I'm definitely not a fan of shows that run ad infinitum. I'd rather see a bunch of different shows that were all very good than a few, long-running ones that fall significantly in quality.

Great episode, but I agree that things are moving along very, very fast.

I like the new Vorenus much better now...it was so sad during his dark days.

Pullo continues to be the coolest cat though.

Sad to see Brutus die. He was a great character, good actor, etc.
