whtmike2k, i haven't heard fader on any basketball court, only fade away and i've played competitively for 18 years. i also worked with kay yow and ncsu women's basketball for 2 years and never heard any player, coach, assistant, or anyone in the gym call a "fade away" a "fader"...i've played in 3v3 tournaments and "street courts" and haven't heard it either.

i know i'm not the only one who hasn't heard "fader" (excluding the commercial)

the term fader is used in basketball all the time. after 3399393 people have pointed this out to you, maybe you should give up

Little late on the thread but "fade out"??? When I saw people saying fade out the first few times I thought it was a joke or something. I've seriously never heard anyone say that before.

Pretty sure the "technical" term is fade away, often called a fader or fadah(if your an tool like the guy in the commercial).

jump shot = "jumper"
fade away = "fader"

for the people that think/thought it was "fade out"...I dont think its necessarily a "I know more basketball than you" thing...I think it might be some regional dialect that you havent heard

but its definitely fader

I SWEAR there was a thread on the whole "fadah" controversy last year that was almost post for post, exactl the same as this one. wow, deja vu.

anyway, it's definitely "fadah," or "fadaaa," however you want to say it. and that's coming from someone who has also played basketball all their lives. It's pretty obvious he doesn't say "fade out."
