Do you think they've already effectively declared war on Iran? After Jeorge Boosh's speech and the raid on the Iranian liaison office in Iraq, I think that may be the case. And now Iran has apparantly shot down an unmanned U.S. spy aircraft. The U.S. seems to be provoking Iran at this point.

But I think it will come down to lies about Iran "supporting the insurgency" and "supplying equipment and IEDs to Iraq", etc.

"Iranian troops shoot down U.S. spy drone: report

January 16, 2007

Iranian troops have shot down a U.S. pilotless spy plane, local Fars News Agency reported on Tuesday.

The aircraft was brought down when it was trying to cross the borders "during the last few days," Seyed Nezam Mola Hoveizeh, a member of the Iranian parliament, was quoted as saying.

The lawmaker gave no exact date of the shot-down or any other details about the incident, but said that "the United States sent such spy drones to the region every now and then."

Who do you think controls our un-manned spy planes? It is the Jews. They are not men, but beasts, so you know they are the ones on the planes.

"What's next -- war with Iran?

By H.D.S. Greenway | January 16, 2007

[...]

The American Jewish Committee took out a full page ad in The New York Times showing Iran in the center of concentric circles, including all the Middle East and beyond, asking: "Can anyone within range of Iran's missiles feel safe?"

[...]

And recently The Times of London carried an article -- quickly denied in Jerusalem -- that Israel has a secret plan to destroy Iran's nuclear facilities by using a low-yield nuclear weapons, about "one fifteenth of the Hiroshima bomb."

The Times quoted Israeli military sources as saying that, unlike Iraq's Osirak nuclear facility, which the Israelis destroyed by air in 1981, the Iranian sites were too well protected to destroy with conventional bombs. The Israeli Air Force has been making practice runs far out into the Mediterranean, according to The Times. It quoted an unnamed official as saying "as soon as the green light is given, it will be one mission, one strike and the Iranian nuclear project will be demolished."

The Israeli foreign office dismissed the report as "absurd," and said that Israel was 100 percent behind the diplomatic efforts to persuade Iran to give up nuclear ambitions. Are such reports sheer nonsense? Or just contingency plans? Or perhaps leaks designed to dismantle the plan? Or leaks designed to put more pressure on Iran -- or perhaps to put pressure on the United States to get serious? One doesn't know, but Cheney long ago said that perhaps the Israelis will one day act on their own, which sounded suspiciously like a green light."

Israel to U.S.: "go attack Iran for us or we'll use nukes on Iran"

Blackmail by threat of using nuclear weapons. Nice.

"British Find No Evidence Of Arms Traffic From Iran

Troops in Southeast Iraq Test U.S. Claim of Aid for Militias

By Ellen Knickmeyer
Washington Post Foreign Service
Wednesday, October 4, 2006; A21

ON THE IRAQ-IRAN BORDER -- Since late August, British commandos in the deserts of far southeastern Iraq have been testing one of the most serious charges leveled by the United States against Iran: that Iran is secretly supplying weapons, parts, funding and training for attacks on U.S.-led forces in Iraq.

A few hundred British troops living out of nothing more than their cut-down Land Rovers and light armored vehicles have taken to the desert in the start of what British officers said would be months of patrols aimed at finding the illicit weapons trafficking from Iran, or any sign of it.

There's just one thing.

"I suspect there's nothing out there," the commander, Lt. Col. David Labouchere, said last month, speaking at an overnight camp near the border. "And I intend to prove it."

Other senior British military leaders spoke as explicitly in interviews over the previous two months. Britain, whose forces have had responsibility for security in southeastern Iraq since the war began, has found nothing to support the Americans' contention that Iran is providing weapons and training in Iraq, several senior military officials said.

"I have not myself seen any evidence -- and I don't think any evidence exists -- of government-supported or instigated" armed support on Iran's part in Iraq, British Defense Secretary Des Browne said in an interview in Baghdad in late August.

I have an idea JonHGuth. Why don't you tell us how it's NOT the Jewish elite, Israel, and the "Israeli Lobby" who are primarily pushing the U.S. to attack Iran.

You know....a rational, logical, and serious discussion.

Wait...that's right...you'd rather just troll, spam, and try to prevent a serious discussion from occuring.

Lost in translation: Experts confirm that Iran's president did not call for Israel to be 'wiped off the map'.
http://commentisfree.guardian.co.uk/jonathan_steele/2006/06/post_155.html

Quote :
"Farsi speakers have pointed out that he was mistranslated. The Iranian president was quoting an ancient statement by Iran's first Islamist leader, the late Ayatollah Khomeini, that "this regime occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time" just as the Shah's regime in Iran had vanished. "

Ahmadinejad misquoted: did NOT say Israel should be wiped off the map
http://www.thetruthseeker.co.uk/print.asp?ID=5866

Quote :
"Before we get to the infamous remark, it's important to note that the "quote" in question was itself a quote— they are the words of the late Ayatollah Khomeini, the father of the Islamic Revolution. Although he quoted Khomeini to affirm his own position on Zionism, the actual words belong to Khomeini and not Ahmadinejad. Thus, Ahmadinejad has essentially been credited (or blamed) for a quote that is not only unoriginal, but represents a viewpoint already in place well before he ever took office.

THE ACTUAL QUOTE:

So what did Ahmadinejad actually say? To quote his exact words in farsi:

"Imam ghoft een rezhim-e ishghalgar-e qods bayad az safheh-ye ruzgar mahv shavad."

That passage will mean nothing to most people, but one word might ring a bell: rezhim-e. It is the word "Regime", pronounced just like the English word with an extra "eh" sound at the end. Ahmadinejad did not refer to Israel the country or Israel the land mass, but the Israeli regime. This is a vastly significant distinction, as one cannot wipe a regime off the map. Ahmadinejad does not even refer to Israel by name, he instead uses the specific phrase "rezhim-e ishghalgar-e qods" (regime occupying Jerusalem).

So this raises the question.. what exactly did he want "wiped from the map"? The answer is: nothing. That's because the word "map" was never used. The Persian word for map, "nagsheh", is not contained anywhere in his original farsi quote, or, for that matter, anywhere in his entire speech. Nor was the western phrase "wipe out" ever said. Yet we are led to believe that Iran's President threatened to "wipe Israel off the map", despite never having uttered the words "map", "wipe out" or even "Israel".

THE PROOF:

The full quote translated directly to English:

"The Imam said this regime occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time".

Word by word translation:

Imam (Khomeini) ghoft (said) een (this) rezhim-e (regime) ishghalgar-e (occupying) qods (Jerusalem) bayad (must) az safheh-ye ruzgar (from page of time) mahv shavad (vanish from)."

While that is a strikingly brilliant response, the simple truth is that you're defending a baseless claim by assuming that a mistranslation is "propoganda".

If you want people to believe that the zionists control all media you will have to prove it as fact. Simply assuming that something is true because it fits in with your conspiratorial world view is a logical fallacy that plagues every single one of your assumptions.

I already have many times.

Thus far I have yet to see anything that would support the contention that the media is controlled by zionists.

At one point I even followed some of salisburyboys links on the subjects and found information that was blatantly wrong (such as the statement that Rupert Murdoch is jewish).

Yes, heaven forbid that someone actually present a radical idea and then support it with evidence.

Two jews on the board at NBC? How does that constitute control of all media?

Of course, the parent company of NBC is GE, which has zero jewish names on the board.

Quote :
"US plans attack on Iran

January 20, 2007

Washington & Tehran: US contingency planning for military action against Iran's nuclear programme goes beyond limited strikes and would effectively unleash a war against the country, a former US intelligence analyst said on Friday.

"I've seen some of the planning ... You're not talking about a surgical strike," said Wayne White, who was a top Middle East analyst for the State Department's bureau of intelligence and research until March 2005.

"You're talking about a war against Iran" that likely would destabilise the Middle East for years, White told the Middle East Policy Council, a Washington think tank.

"We're not talking about just surgical strikes against an array of targets inside Iran. We're talking about clearing a path to the targets" by taking out much of the Iranian Air Force, Kilo submarines, anti-ship missiles that could target commerce or US warships in the Gulf, and maybe even Iran's ballistic missile capability, White said."

A full-scale war instead of surgical strikes?...likely would "destablize the Middle East for years"?

Well that's the goal....inflaming and destabilizing the region...widening the war...war for years and decades to come.
